Ten matches have been confirmed so far for the PPV event. Let’s have a look at them.

WWE Summerslam 2021 Results and Highlights

John Cena vs. Roman Reigns- John Cena spots a new T-Shirt. All his 16 World Title reigns were depicted on the back of his T-Shirt.

It started off with a side headlock from John Cena. However, Roman stuns him with a shoulder tackle. Cena goes for two roll-up pins in a row and Roman barely kicked out off them. Roman Reigns was overpowering Cena now. He was gaining control on the 16-time World Champion and Cena was feeling the pressure. Roman took Cena outside the ring and ran him on the steel stairs. This move was followed up by slamming Cena face-first on the steel stairs.

Roman then took his title and stood on the steel stairs and raise his arms up in the air. The two men were inside the ring now. Cena went for yet another quick roll-up pin and Roman kicked out. Cena lifted him for an AA but Roman countered with a DDT.

Between all the action, Cena got another chance to roll up Roman for a pin and the latter again survived. Cena then got wrapped up in a sleeper hold for a while, but after some resilience, Cena lifted Roman on his back and slammed him back first on the corner.

Cena then hit his flying shoulders and went for the Five Knuckle Shuffle. But Roman countered it with a submission. Cena got of the submission hold somehow and after a few strikes, hit Roman with the Five Knuckle Shuffle followed up by an AA. Cena went for the pin but Roman kicked out at two.

The action then shifted near the announce table. Roman hit a drive-by on Cena on the apron. He then wanted to hit a Spear, but Cena lifted him up and hit an AA on the announce table. Cena rolled him inside the ring and attempted yet another failed pinfall.

Roman and Cena now had an encounter inside the ring. Roman hit him with a Superman Punch and Cena kicked out. He then loaded himself for a Spear, but Cena got out of harm’s way and Roman bashed into the post. Cena took Roman on the top turnbuckle and delivered a Super AA from the top turnbuckle. Roman kicked-out on yet another pinfall.

In the closing moments, Cena looked exhausted and got into a Spear, and just like that. It was 1,2,3 wit Roman Reigns standing tall on John Cena. Just when the match got over, Here comes the Beast- Brockkkk Lesnarrrr is Backkkkk.

Goldberg vs. Bobby Lashley- The colossal bout is on. Two powerhouses in the ring and started off with the classic wrestling lock. Goldberg stunned Lashley and everyone in the ring by leaping on Bobby followed up by a Body Slam.

Lashley was stunned but Lashley retaliated with some fierce strikes of his own. He then went on the top turnbuckle, but Goldberg caught him and threw him from the top rope. Goldberg charged himself up for a Spear, but MVP pulled Lashley outside.

Goldberg, however, didn’t back down and hit Goldberg with a spear on the outside of the ring. The two men were inside again and Goldberg got himself ready for the spear again, but this time MVP hit him on the back of the knee with his rod.

This gave Goldberg the much-needed opening and chopped block Goldberg’s knee. He attacked Goldberg on the knee again by slamming him knee-first not once but twice on the post outside the ring.

The match had to be called off as Goldberg was not feeling his knee and he was done for good. Lashley was declared the winner, however, he didn’t stop there just. Lashley took the steel chair and struck it multiple times on Goldberg’s injured knee. The assault was ferocious that made Goldberg’s son Gage intervene and attack Lashley from behind, but only to get locked in the Hurt Lock.

Miz & Morrison in the ring- The Miz and Morrison got a taste of their own medicine by New Day’s Xavier Woods.

 

 

Edge vs. Seth Rollins- Surprise Surprise, Edge walks out on The Brood’s theme. It’s now time for this epic match to get underway.

Rollins tried attacking Edge’s neck but, the Rated-R Superstar denied him from doing so. He had his offense on target, and Rollins was sent outside the ring which made the latter furious and frustrated.

After regrouping, Seth finally was back into the ring after 6 counts. Seth tried to go for a Pedigree, but Edge lifted himself up and sent Rollins outside again. He slammed Rollins face-first on the announce table, kidney first to the apron, and mid-section first on the barricade.

Rollins however turned the tables when he took Edge out on the other side of the ring. He slammed the back of his head on the ring post, and then slammed the back of his head on the steel steps four times in a row. Rollins was in total control now and was targeting Edge’s neck repeatedly.

He slammed him with a neck breaker and a high knee from the top turnbuckle on the side of Edge’s face. Rollins was going for yet another neck breaker, but the Rated-R Superstar countered with face-first on the mat. Both men went on the top turnbuckle, and Seth pushed him down on the mat.

It was a precarious situation for both Superstars but a frog splash was delivered from Rollins. The two went on the top turnbuckle again, but this time it was Edge who came up with a neck breaker from the top.

Edge was in control now, he struck Rollins with an Edgecustion and followed up by a back slam drop. He then moved to the top turnbuckle but took too much time. Seth sensed that and delivered a Superplex from the top followed up by a Falcon Arrow. Edge survived a close 2-count.

Edge, however, didn’t give up and hit a ferocious spear right through the middle rope and both men were outside the ring. He then slammed Seth face-first on the LED board below the ring apron. Both got into the ring now, and Edge charged himself up with a Spear, but Seth countered with a Pedigree for yet another near fall.

Seth went for a moonsault from the top-rope but escaped from harm’s way and hit him with a Spear. But, Rollins kicked out at 2-count that left everyone in the Allegiant Stadium in sheer shock including Edge.

In the closing moment, Edge went old school with Edgecunation followed up by crippler cross-face. When Seth didn’t tap on the Crippler crossface, Edge slammed his head multiple times on the mat and ended up with a crippler sleeper hold to humble Rollins.

Charlotte vs. Rhea Ripley vs. Nikki A.S.H (c)- Charlotte pushed Nikki aside to start the proceedings. Nikki, however, retaliated by sending Rhea outside the ring and then stunning Charlotte with a Monkey Flip.

Rhea returned into the ring attacked Nikki to send her outside. She then took charge for a while until Charlotte attacked her from behind. Triple threat match sees action and momentum-shifting quickly and that was what on display.

Charlotte hit a big boot on Rhea Ripley to send her outside the ring. Nikki came into the scene and tried Monkey flipping the Queen again, but the latter denied this time around a d Nikki was slammed on the mat. Rhea got back in the ring and hit Charlotte with a missile dropkick from the top turnbuckle. Bith ladies rolled outside near the announce table, and Nikki sensed the opportunity and dived crossbody on the two ladies from the top turnbuckle.

The three women returned inside. Nikki and Rhea teamed up to suplex Charlotte, but the queen countered the suplex with a DDT. Rhea and Nikki were outside the ring now, and Charlotte hit a backflip suplex from the top turnbuckle on the two ladies outside.

In the closing moments, Rhea tried a Rip Tide on Nikki but the champ countered it with a DDT, and Rhea rolled outside the ring. Nikki and Charlotte were in the ring now, and Charlotte locked Nikki with a figure 8 leg lock to which Nikki submitted.

Drew McIntyre vs. Jinder Mahal- Drew McIntyre went right after Jinder Mahal right from the outset. He lifted him up and took him to the corner. Then slammed him with a belly-to-belly both inside and outside the ring.

Jinder started Begging Drew for fake mercy and then rocked him with a kick on the face. This gave Jinder the much-needed opening and all of a sudden tables turn in Jinder’s favor. Jinder dropped a knee on Drew and followed up with other offenses. Just when it seemed Jinder was in control, Drew took charge. The Scottish Warrior rocked Jinder with three across the ring Belly-to-Bell followed up by a future shock DDT. To wrap up things, the Claymore Kick was the only thing needed.

Gable Stevenson & Tamyra Mensah-Stock, the Tokyo Olympic Gold Medalist were in the ring getting the much-deserved ovation.

 

 

Becky Lynch vs Bianca Belair- Sasha Banks was scheduled to compete, but she was not able to make it to Summerslam, therefore The Boss was replaced by Carmella.

Bianca Belair was visibly upset to see Carmella walk out.

Another big surprise, Becky Lynch is here. The Man is Back!!!! The allegiant Stadium erupts in ecstasy.

After a loud pop, Becky finally gets into the ring and attacked Carmella in ambush. She then walks into the face of Bianca Belair and challenges her for a match right now for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. Bianca accepted the challenge, and the match is on.

The match didn’t lasted for a minute and hit Bianca with a punch followed up by Manhandle Slam to pick up a pinfall victory and regain the possession of Smackdown Women’s Championship title.

The Mysterios vs. The Usos- Rey & Jey started the proceedings, and it seemed like Rey was up for a 619 early on, but Jey got out of harm’s way. Both the Uso brothers were outside the ring, and Rey tagged in Dominik who dived on the outside on the Usos.

Jey was rolled inside the ring by Dominik and the latter hit him the 3 Amigos. Jimmy took the tag on the final Amigo but Dominik didn’t realize until he was pushed from the top turnbuckle down to the floor by Jimmy. The push changed the entire momentum of the match, and all of a sudden The Usos were on the driving seat. To add to Mysterio’s misery, Jey hit a hard upper hand on a running Dominik to completely rock him.

The strong upper hand was followed by 2 suplexes. Jey was trash-talking with Dominik and giving him time to regroup. He went for the 3rd suplex as well, but Dominik blocked it and turned into a neck-breaker slam. He then somehow tagged in his father who changed the complexion of the match with his quickness.

In the closing moments, Rey hit Jey with a 619 and kicked Jimmy near the apron. He then went uphill to dive on Jey, but the latter put his knee up on time to survive a scare. Jimmy took the tag and the Uso brothers rocked Rey from a superkick from on either side of his head, followed up by Uso splash to pin him.

Damian Priest vs. Sheamus- Time for the United States Championship. Classic wrestling lock started the proceedings, with Sheamus rocking Damina with a side roll slam to the mat. Sheamus was overpowering Damian, but both got time to adjust themselves.

A big right hand from Damian just rocked Sheamus and he followed up by a slam. Damian hit a right hand to send Sheamus outside from the apron. He then dived on Sheamus on the outside, but a nasty landing damaged his lower back for good.

Sheamus sensed weakness and started attacking his back. He first slammed Damian back-first on the outside of the ring post and then planted a back slam on the mat inside the ring. Sheamus continued targeting Damian’s lower back and it was a physical assault for Damian now.

Damian tried showing some resilience, but Sheamus’s offense was proving too much for an already injured Damian Priest. Sheamus then hit four right hands on Damian’s chest and started trash-talking with the fans and Damian Priest.

This perhaps charged up Damian Priest and suddenly there was a change in momentum. Damian hit a running clothesline and then went on the top turnbuckle to hit Sheamus with a spinning kick. Sheamus still went on with his offense by hitting multiple headbutts followed by a knee on the face. After the knee, it seemed like it’s all but over for Damian, but he survived a close pinfall with 2-counts.

In the closing moments, Sheamus locked Damian with a leg lock, but the latter retaliated and replied by removing Sheamus’s mask. He then hit a spinning kick on his face and ended up with a Reckoning to pin Sheamus.

Eva Marie & Alexa Bliss- Perhaps Eva’s first one-on-one match since returning to the company earlier this year. It all started off with Eva grabbing Alexa from behind around his waist, but Alexa did the same and hit her on the face with a right elbow. 

Eva then went to the corner post, took Lilly, and started slapping her. This made Alexa furious and she went towards her, Eva then hit the doll Lilly on her face. Alexa was stunned and furious at the same time and hit Eva Marie with two shoulder tackles.

Alexa survived a close pinfall when she missed a Twisted Bliss. In the closing moments, it just took a hard shot from Alexa Bliss to pin Eva Marie. After the match got over, Doudrop took the mic and announced. “The loser of this match is Eva Marie.” She walked off wearing Eva’s robe and mocking Eva on her face.

RK-Bro vs AJ Styles & Omos- The first match of the PPV will be for the Raw Tag Team Championship. Stay Tuned!

Riddle and Randy Orton are making their way to the ring together. A rare sight, but yes, this is happening.

It’s time for the Raw Tag Team Champions now. AJ Styles and Omos are now heading to the ring.

Randy Orton and AJ Styles started off the proceedings. Orton was the one to gain hand first as he frustrated Styles early on. Riddle gets the tag in and now he was working on AJ until the latter tagged in Omos.

Omos changed the complexion of the match and put Riddle on the backfoot. Riddle was slammed hard on the mat twice and then AJ Styles took the tag himself. Styles was in the ring now and dominating with his offense. Riddle somehow tagged in Randy, and the veteran was all over AJ.

He hit Omos with a cheap shot on the apron, and then AJ was planted with a middle rope DDT. Riddle tried to dive on Omos on the outside but was caught with a chokeslam from the Colossal figure on the apron.

In the closing moments, AJ and Randy were in the ring Randy tried to lift AJ in the air and end up with an RKO, but failed. However, in a quick turn of events, Randy dit hit an RKO to win the bout.
