As per reports, Mustafa Ali moving back to SmackDown was due to Rey Mysterio’s injury. Ali replaced the Master of 619 for the SmackDown World Cup and will go one-on-one against Ricochet Next week on Friday Night SmackDown.

Recently, Ringside News gave an update on Rey Mysterio’s absence from last week’s WWE SmackDown. The former US Champion was nowhere to see, but Ringside News was told the former US Champion was present backstage. However, WWE didn’t use him for SmackDown World Cup or for any other match.
A tenured member from WWE backstage reported Rey Mysterio was seen in his walking boots. Unfortunately, the report didn’t disclose Mysterio’s injury. It seems the injury is not much serious and Rey Mysterio will be back soon. A few weeks back, the former Champion returned to the SmackDown brand to avoid an altercation with his son Dominik on Monday Night Raw.

WWE SmackDown: Rey Mysterio battled Gunther in an intense match
On the 11/4 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Rey Mysterio faced Gunther for the IC Title. The match lasted for a long time and both men surpassed their limits to knock down each other. WWE Universe saw the Luchador bringing Gunther into an intense situation.
The match featured Rey Mysterio and Gunther in big spots where both men tried their best to keep themselves strong. However, the match ended up in the Ring General’s favor after a decisive clothesline. Although the IC Champion retained the title, Rey Mysterio won hearts once again.
