WWE Smackdown- Smackdown Results and Highlights:

King Woods vs. Jimmy Uso: Time for the main event, with a lot at stake for both men. As the bell rang, King Woods tried going for a quick roll-up pin but Jimmy didn’t go down just like that. The action then continued with King Woods having the upper hand initially.

King Woods was in control and Jimmy was sent outside where he regrouped with his brother Jey and returned to the ring with all his offense daunting on the King. He did take some chest chops from the King but ensured that the King was sent outside the ring sliding under the bottom rope. We go for commercials now.

As we returned to the ring, both men were inside the ring and King Woods placed a perfect chest chop before taking a hard right hand from Jimmy. He then ran into the King with a knee to his face and went for the cover, but the King kicked out at 2-count. This frustrated Jimmy who was then stuck with a kick in the gut from the King followed by a superkick and a leg drop from the top turnbuckle.

The King was in control again. He sent Jimmy outside to slide on him with a dropkick from between the middle and top rope. Jimmy was sent crashing towards the announce table. The action did take a fine turn as both men were heavily striking with their offense.

As we were approaching the closing moments of the match, Jimmy attempted a roll-up pin with some assistance from his brother Jey. While the referee was counting 3, he caught Jey who was helping Jimy with the pin. This made Jimmy ague with the referee and from behind Woods successfully rolled up Jimmy for a pinfall win.

After the match, as per the condition, Jimmy had to bend one of his knees to acknowledge King Woods. Just when Jimmy was about to bend his knee, Roman Reigns came from behind and hit a superman punch on King Woods for good.

He along with The Usos brutally annihilated Sir Kofi & King Woods. The Usos attacked on the back of the knee of Sir Kofi and then Jimmy went for the splash from the top rope on the same knee. The attack was just a reminder from Roman Reigns to King Woods to tell him loud and clear who is the real King of WWE.

 

 

Backstage: Hit Row was confronted by the self-proclaimed locker room leader Sami Zayn. He was blatant on their face saying that Hit Row was impressive on their debut but they lacked something and that was their entry. Giving Hit Row a piece of advice they never needed, made the newbies ask Sami if he could tell them how it is done. Sami agreed and went out for his entry.

It was a ridiculous entry of all sorts, the un-Sami style. After his entry, Sami called HitRow and asked them to do it the way he did. HitRow came out but insulted Sami that he sucks. The segment ended with HitRow humiliating Sami Zayn for good and sending a disappointed Sami backstage.

 

 

Happy Corbin & Madcapp Moss vs. The Viking Raiders: The match gets underway after the commercial. Erik and Corbin were in the ring to start the proceedings. A classic wrestling lock to start off and the action started pretty well with Erik having the upper hand.

Some power moves were on display and Corbin did get the opportunity to show his moves on Erik for good. Ivar got a tag after a while and the heavyweight rn through both Moss and Happy Corbing with authority. We saw a Deep Siz from Corbin on Erik during the match, but later it was Erik who rocked Corbin with a vicious knee on the face.

In the closing moments, Corbin was put aside with a knee from Erik, and then he powerslammed Moss and set him prey for a heavy fall from Ivar. As Ivar was setting himself up for a dive, Corbin smartly pulled Moss outside the ring. The referee counted 10 and Moss & Corbin didn’t return to the ring intentionally as they wanted to be out of harm’s way. This meant, the Viking Raiders took their first win on Smackdown return via count-out.

Happy Talk with Special Guests- The Viking Raiders: Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss started off the Happy Talk talk show by cracking meaningless jokes and laughing on the same. Happy Corbin then invited his guests, the former Raw Tag-Team Champions The Viking Raiders.

As the Viking Raiders arrived in the ring, and they weren’t happy at all. They said that they are here not to laugh but to raid Happy Talk. Madcap Moss and Happy Corbin then cracked jokes in the Viking Raiders who got pissed and cleared the ring by sending the chairs to the side. We now head into a commercial with probably a match between the two teams to follow after the commercial.

 

 

Backstage: Mustafa Ali approached Ricochet backstage to get into his skin and asked him to be his tag-team partner. Ricochet denied by saying he knows what he did to his former tag partner Mansoor, and moreover, he knows Ali is a jerk.

 

 

Ricochet vs. Drew McIntyre: The Smackdown Warrior Drew McIntyre was up with his open challenge and asked anyone to fight him. The challenge was accepted by Ricochet who walked on the ramp saying that Drew needs to stop this coming out again and again and issuing open challenges. He should stop all this because someone someday will slap him on his face for good to shut him up.

Ricochet did the same slapping Drew on his face before the match could have even started. The slap stunned McIntyre, and just when the bell rang, the Smackdown Warrior ran right into Ricochet and send him flying by throwing him from one corner to the other like a rag bag.

After some brutal offense from Drew inside the ring, the action was shifted on the outside where Ricochet hit a running kick from the apron to Drew’s chest, but only to go spine-first on the apron. He then picked up Ricochet and sent him inside the ring through the bottom rope.

Ricochet did got his chance inside the ring and he stunned Drew with a series of strikes of his own including some high-flying strikes, a dropkick, etc. He showed some great resilience and did whatever he could to upset Drew, but that didn’t happen. In the closing moments, Ricochet attempted a reverse moonsault, but unfortunately got caught with an impressive Claymore in the air to get pinned.

Humberto Carrillo & Angel Garza vs. Cesaro & Mansoor: Garza and Mansoor were the ones to start the proceedings. Garza took down Mansoor to the mat grabbing his left hand and started working on his shoulder. Garza looked in control and was working pretty well on Mansoor.

He then tagged his cousin Humberto who continued from where Garza left. He started his attack with some great offense before tagging in Garza again. Mansoor was struggling to get to his corner and tag in his partner, finally, he got a chance to do so by delivering a DDT to Garza.

Cesaro came in and changed the complexion of the match. Garza tagged in Humberto and Cesaro made sure that the former was at the receiving end. He started off with a springboard uppercut and then ran into Humberto with a series of strikes.

He was charged up and went outside to hit a running uppercut on Garza at the barricade. He then returned to the ring to take Humberto to a swing, but Garza came in and interrupted. That resulted in Cesaro taking Garza to a swing, however, the swing was broken by Humberto with a fierce right hand on the back of Cesaro. In the closing moments, the cousin brothers work together by sending Mansoor out and then Garza stomped on Cesaro’s face with their unique finisher together. Garza pinned Cesaro to pick up the victory

Backstage: Shotzi gets interviewed where she reveals her unheard and unseen side. She said that she is done with being the girl running on tanks and all, She said ever since moving to Smackdown, she has lost everything, She first lost her title opportunities, her tag partner, and the biggest match of her career last week, thanks to Sasha. Now, her next target is Sasha Banks and she is looking forward to running over her.

Backstage: Ridge Holland, the latest edition of Smackdown gets interviewed backstage. Kayla asks him what is he looking forward to on the blue brand? Ridge replied by saying that he is looking forward to meeting his idol Sheamus whom he has always admired.

 

Naomi vs Shayna Baszler: The match started off with a classic wrestling lock which was broken when Naomi body pressed Shayna for good by running in from the ropes. She then tried to unload using some hard strikes, but Shayna didn’t let that happen.

Naomi showed her agility by dropkicking Shayna on the back of her sending her outside. She then hit another kick on the side of the head of Shayna near the announce table from the apron, before smashing her rib-first on the apron. The two ladies were inside the ring again until the action moved outside yet again on the other side of the ring and Shayna floored Naomi with a gut-wrenching face-first slam as we head into commercials.

After the commercial, both ladies were near the ring ropes when Naomi hit Shayna head-first on the apron and she had a bad landing. The two ladies then got inside and Naomi tried going for a roll-up pin, but Shayna turned it into her submission move, Naomi escaped it somehow and got the roll-up pin to defeat Shayna Baszler.

After the match got over, Sonya Deville walked to the ramp and asked the referee to restart the match because according to her, Naomi held the ropes while pinning Shayna Baszler (which wasn’t the case at all). Referee had to restart the match on Deville’s command, while Naomi was left livid. As the bell rang, Shayna grabbed her from behind into her submission sleeper-hold and made her tap to win the match.

The Bloodline kicks off the show: Roman Reigns and The Usos along with Paul Heyman kick off the show.

Roman Reigns starts off by saying that last week he wasn’t here because he took a vacation after smashing Brock Lesnar. He continued and asked the crowd of Indiana to Acknowledge him. After blabbering against Brock Lesnar and reminding the crowd that Brock Lesnar had a bad week and how he got fined USD 1 Million because of him.

He then turned his focus on the Wiseman Paul Heyman and asked him what else happened last week. Paul Heyman told him that The Usos got defeated by The New Day last week. This made Roman Reigns pissed and he went on asking his cousins who were the one to get pinned? Both the Usos pointed out at each other. Reigns then went towards Jimmy and asked him how he is going to fix what happened last week? How will it happen?

Jimmy took the mic and said that he will smash King Woods tonight and make him acknowledge the Tribal Chief, the Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Jimmy got interrupted by King Woods and Sir Kofi Kingston as they walked out on the ramp.

Sir Kofi started off by making The Bloodline feel miserable about themselves, and then King Woods asked Jimmy Uso that if he defeats him tonight, he will have no problem in acknowledging Roman Reigns. However, if the King wins, Jimmy will have to kneel down in order to pay respect to the King. Jimmy then said The Bloodline doesn’t kneel to anyone, and Jey supported his quote. However, Roman Reigns then took the mic and accepted King Woods’ challenge. The match will take place later in the night.
