WWE Smackdown – Smackdown Results and Highlights:

Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey: Charlotte Flair and Sonya Deville were in the ring. Sonya told Charlotte that Ronda has chosen her Wrestlemania 38 opponent and it is going to be Becky Lynch. She might sign the contract next week on Raw, which means Charlotte is left without an opponent at Mania.

Sonya then tells Charlotte to pick her opponent for Wrestlemania. The Queen of WWE then said that Ronda made the right decision by choosing Becky Lynch as she went the easy way out. She then announced that she would choose Sasha Banks who would main event Wrestlemania with her.

As Charlotte was talking, Ronda Rousey interrupted the segment. She seemed happy and made her way to the ring. She was in the ring and told Charlotte that she is yet to decide on which champion she would face at Wrestlemania 3. She then announced that she would take on Charlotte Flair at Wrestlemania saying ‘See you bitch.’

Charlotte then smiled at Ronda and said that the Smackdown Women’s title is her baby and her baby is better than her’s (referring to Ronda Rousey’s newborn baby). This made Ronda Rousey furious and she wanted to go after Charlotte. However, Sonya Deville tried stopping Ronda from unleashing on Ronda but instead, the BAddest Woman on the planet took out Sonya with an arm bar.

The New Day vs. Los Lotharios: As soon as the bell rang, Angel tried going for a dropkick on Big E, but the latter moved out of harm’s way and tagged Kofi. Kofi the ook out Angel with ease and was all over him with his attacks before Angel tagged in Humberto.

Humberto was the legal man now and he exchanged a few blows with Kofi. Angel and Humberto worked in tandem to send Big E on the floor, before placing Kofi upside down in the corner. Angel then tried a baseball slide on Kofi, but the latter got up and tried diving on the outside from the apron on Humberto. However, while doing so he was caught in a superkick from Angel. We now head into commercials.

After the commercials, we saw Angel and Kofi in the ring. Angel snapped his pant and threw it on the face of Big E. He then tagged in Humbertp who was working on Kofi nicely. He decided to take the aerial route and while landing, Kofi put his legs in the air which hit him on the face.

Kofi then tagged in Big E and the former WWE Champion started to roll. he hit Angel with two belly-to-belly suplex before going for a tag team maneuver. The two teams went back and forth with their combined moves, but ultimately it was Big Ending combined with Kofi Kingston’s top turnbuckle dive that helped New Day beat Los Lotharios.

Backstage: After Naomi got screwed at the Royal Rumble by Sonya Deville, she wanted to get her hands on Sonya Deville, however, Sonya told her she is busy and can’t have a match tonight or next week. She told Naomi that next week she would be facing Charlotte for the Smackdown Women’s title. Later Adam Pearce also gave her his words.

 

 

Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Jinder Mahal: Before the match could have started, Sami Zayn came and joined the announce table. Jinder started striking Nakamura, but not for long as the Intercontinental Champion was up with his offense. He even tried going for the Kinshasa, but Jinder evaded the strike.

After a while, Jinder Mahal was in the driver’s seat and was in total control. He then displayed a few moves including a knee drop into the gut of Shinsuke Nakamura. The champ was resilient and returned with a few offenses before finally nailing a Kinshasa to earn a victory over the Modern Day Maharaja.

Backstage: Sami Zayn gets his Intercontinental Championship match two weeks from today. Also, Natalya asks for a Pinfall or Submission match against Aliyah next week, and Sonya Deville agreed to the idea and gave Natalya a Dungeon match.

 

 

Drew McIntyre in the ring- The Scottish Warrior Drew McIntyre was in the ring and addressed that people were asking him how he came so early from his injury. He then recited a story. He said that the doctor told him that he won’t make it to Royal Rumble or even Wrestlemania 38, but he looked him in his eyes and said “Kiss my a**.”

As Drew was speaking, Happy Corbin interrupted the segment. He exchanged a few words with Drew and tried keeping him distracted so that Madcap Moss could attack him from behind. However, it didn’t go as planned as Drew realized Moss was about to attack him. He then asked Moss to crack a joke on him. Moss was shocked, but Drew intimidated him and force him to crack a joke on him as he has been doing this for weeks.

Moss cracked a joke on Drew and Drew started laughing. Moss got comfortable and started laughing with Drew, but the Scottish Warrior nailed a Claymore Kick to floor him. He ended the segment by saying that every week he would make Corbin and Moss’ life a living hell.

 

 

Aliyah vs. Natalya- Aliyah went straight for a roll-up pin, but Natalya soon hit Aliyah in her breadbasket and sent her to the corner. She then sent her to the other corner and continued her attack. Natalya was on the attack and Aliyah was somehow fighting hard to get the better of her.

Aliyah displayed a few moves set and also went for a sunset flip pin but Natalya kicked out. The two ladies then went outside and Natalya was beating the hell out of Aliyah. She first sent her crashing into the barricade and continued her attack. She was busy beating the hell out of ALiyah and didn’t realize that the referee had counted 7.

Aliyah was aware of the referee’s count and sent Natalya into the barricade and returned to the ring before the 10 counts to register yet another win over Natalya in recent weeks on Smackdown.

Jimmy Uso vs. Erik- Erik was the one to start the attacks early on in the match. Erik planted Jimmy on the mat with a takedown and then hit him with a knee on his face. Erik then started talking with Jey who was near the announce table and Ivar tried to dive on him, but Jey got out of the way.

Meanwhile, in the ring, Jimmy got the better of Erik with a superkick. He then went straight up to the top turnbuckle and nailed a perfect Uso splash to earn a victory over one-half of his Elimination Chamber opponent.

Ricochet & Cesaro vs Sheamus & Ridge Holland- The match was made official during the commercial and Cesaro & Sheamus started the proceedings. Sheamus after hitting his famous chest chops on Cesaro exchanged tags with their partners.

Ricochet came in and got the better of Ridge Holland with his quick and athletic moves. After going back & forth with Ridge, he once again tagged Cesaro and soon we saw Ridge also exchanging tags. Ricochet sent Ridge outside the ring near the announce table and tried a dive from the top rope, however, Ridge caught him and sent him shoulder-first on the apron.

Meanwhile, in the ring, Cesaro was going for a high-risk maneuver on Sheamus from the top rope. But Ridge climbed the apron tagged himself in without Cesaro realizing. He entered the ring and delivered his finisher on Cesaro to pick up a win.

Ricochet vs. Ridge Holland- Ridge Holland and Ricochet started after the bell rang with Sheamus and Cesaro at the ringside for their respective partners. Ricochet was banged back-first on the mat by Holland and it was Holland who seemed to have the upper hand in the opening half of the match.

Ricochet soon sent Holland outside and tried a Baseball slide on him. However, he got caught and was sent face-first on the apron. Cesaro and Sheamus then exchanged a few words near the ringside, and Ricochet took advantage of that. While Ridge was returning to the ring, Ricochet hit him with a face-first on the rope and pinned him to win the match.

Paul Heyman and the Bloodline kicks off the show- Roman Reigns and The Usos along with Paul Heyman kick off the Royal Rumble fallout edition of Friday Night Smackdown. Paul Heyman was the one to start speaking and acknowledged the fact that he is the special counsel of the Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

He further added that he made a mistake by saying that he protected Roman Reigns from Brock Lesnar and then got Superman punched by the Tribal Chief which he deserved. He continued speaking and said that Brock Lesnar isn’t the one with whom he has been for 20 years. He isn’t a Beast anymore instead he is someone who goes happily in the ring and wears a stupid ponytail.

Paul then said that Brock Lesnar was smashed at Royal Rumble by Roman Reigns and now he understands that Roman Reigns isn’t the one who needs to be protected from Brock but Brock needs to be protected from Roman Reigns and he should acknowledge the Tribal Chief. As he was speaking, a surprise took place. The WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg’s music hit and he entered the scene.

Goldberg made his way to the ring, got the mic, and said that he Acknowledge Roman Reigns as his next victim. He challenged him for a match at the Elimination Chamber for the Universal Championship. Roman was in a disbelief and left the ring along with his cousins The Usos.
