WWE Smackdown: Is WWE wasting Shinsuke Nakamura’s potential?- It’s been a while since Shinsuke Nakamura, the King of Strong Style, has been holding the Intercontinental Championship on Friday Night Smackdown but has been a bit precarious in recent times.

Nakamura has been the Intercontinental Champion for 93 days now, but when it comes to title defense, he has done it only once. Recently the Twitter handle of Wrestle Features posted a picture of Shinsuke Nakamura when he won the Intercontinental Championship from Apollo Crews and captioned it with a question that read,

“Shinsuke Nakamura won the IC Title in August. In the 93 days since winning the title, he has defended it a total of ONE single time on WWE TV. Why do they always book his IC/US Title runs so awfully?”

WWE Smackdown: Why does WWE treat the King of Strong Style so ordinarily?

The question put up in the above post is genuine. Why does WWE treat the King of Strong Style so ordinarily? He is a gem in the pro-wrestling industry and was touted as one of the best pro-wrestlers going around during his time with NJPW back in 2002.

When everyone thought Shinsuke would get what he actually deserves, WWE didn’t pull the trigger on him. His only notable push came during the 2-months time between Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania 34. After losing that bout, he turned heel, and since then, he has been treated like any other ordinary star on the roster.

WWE Smackdown: What can we expect next from Shinsuke Nakamura?

The next challenge for Shinsuke Nakamura comes in the form of WWE Raw’s United States Champion Damian Priest at WWE Survivor Series.- This is a match that hasn’t been pushed at all.

Moreover, going by the recent bookings of Shinsuke, where he even got pinned by someone like Angel Garza, the Intercontinental Champion, seems to be facing yet another defeat at the PPV event. Which direction Shinsuke Nakamura’s career moves post- Survivor Series would be something interesting to see.
