WWE Royal Rumble – Royal Rumble Results and Highlights: Check out the big highlights and what happened on the WWE Royal Rumble Episode on 30th January: The biggest extravaganza of 2022, i.e., WWE Royal Rumble had it all. Ronda Rousey won the women’s Rumble, meanwhile, Brock Lesnar won the men’s Rumble match and they will now headline the two-night Wrestlemania 38 on April 3 & 4.

The men’s Rumble match result was assumingly predictable after how Brock lost his title earlier in the night courtesy of Paul Heyman’s betrayal and Roman Reigns’ attack. However, no one expected Ronda to enter the Rumble and win it, but it happened. Below are the results of a stupendous show, read on and check all the results underneath.

WWE Royal Rumble matches & segments of the night:

30-man Royal Rumble Match- “The Phenomenal One AJ” Styles entered the Rumble at #1, and it was the Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura to start at #2.

Nakamura and Styles started the proceedings and these two have had a tremendous rivalry over the decade or so. Both men were up with their offense and going back & forth.

 

#3- Austin Theory

Entering at #3 is Austin Theory. He got into the ring and attacked Styles first with a dropkick and then tried eliminating Nakamura. However, AJ Styles made the save for him and the three men were now exchanging blows.

#4- Robert Roode

Robert Roode entered fourth and he nailed a spinebuster on both Austin Theory & Shinsuke Nakamura. He then squared off against AJ Styles, while the crowd chanted TNA, TNA! Soon we saw Robert Roode getting eliminated by AJ Styles.

#5- Ridge Holland

Ridge Holand entered the Rumble at number 5. He started his attack on Austin Theory, and we saw Styles eliminating Nakamura.

#6- Montez Ford

Ford tried eliminating Styles, but The Phenomenal One hung on the top rope. Ford was now dealing with Theory, meanwhile it’s time for #7.

 

#7- Damian Priest

Number 7 is the United States Champion Damian Priest who entered only his second Rumble. Only two eliminations so far, and the ring was starting to fill up.

 

#8- Sami Zayn

The next entrant in the Royal Rumble match was Sami Zayn. Sami was staying away from everyone but Montez Ford approached him and started the attack on him.

 

#9- Johnny Knoxville

Knoxville entered the Rumble at #9 and the crowd went berserk. He entered the ring and went straight after Sami Zayn. After a while, we saw Styles and Knoxville exchanging blows before Ford went for a Frog Splash on him and Zayn then eliminated Knoxville with a Helluva Kick.

#10- Angelo Dawkins

Seems like Dawkins has got a backup in the form of his tag-team partner Angelo Dawkins.

 

#11- Omos

Number 11 is AJ Styles’ former Personal Colossus Omos who was dominating with ease. He eliminated both the members Street Profits.

-> Omos eliminated Montez Ford

 

#12- Ricochet

Number 12 was Ricochet who entered with a flying dropkick on Omos, but the big man was still standing. He was then was kept quiet with a slap on his chest by Omos.

 

#13- Chad Gable

Chad Gable regrouped everyone to take out Omos, but in the process, Damian Priest got eliminated by Omos.

#14- Dominik Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio entered 14th and joined everyone who were trying to eliminate Omos. Finally, AJ Styles eliminated Omos with a running bash.

#15- Happy Corbin

Happy Corbin entered 15th and soon eliminated the high-flying Ricochet.

#16- Dolph Ziggler

Ziggler entered his record 15th Rumble at the 16th spot, and right when he entered, Corbin eliminated Dominik.

Styles then eliminated Austin Theory

#17- Sheamus

Before Sheamus could have enter the ring, his fried Ridge Holland got eliminated by none other than AJ Styles.

#18- Rick Boogs

Rick Boogs made his way into the ring at number 18 and got into a fight with Gable. He then lifted him in a Military Press and eliminated Gable.

#19- Madcap Moss

Madcap Moss entered 19th and Happy Corbin finally had some backup. Moss, along with Happy Corbin managed to eliminate the first entrant of the match AJ Styles.

#20- Riddle

The Original Bro Riddle entered the Rumble at number 20 with the crowd all behind him. Also, we saw Happy Corbin eliminating Rick Boogs.

#21- Drew McIntyre

At number 21, it was a huge surprise. The winner of last year’s Rumble entered with a huge pop and straight away went after both Madcap Moss and Happy Corbin who injured his neck and kept him away from the ring for almost a month.

-> Drew McIntyre eliminated Happy Corbin

After eliminating the two, Drew went outside the ring and annihilated both Moss and Corbin with the steel stairs.

 

#22- Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens was the next to enter the Rumble with a huge pop. He went straight after Drew McIntyre on the outside and all of a sudden the Rumble got lively. Owens then hit a popup Powerbomb on Drew McIntyre inside the ring.

#23- Rey Mysterio

The veteran Rey Mysterio was the 23rd entrant and he went right after Kevin Owens. Rey then continued the battle with others.

 

#24- Kofi Kingston

The real Highlight Reel of Royal Rumble, Kofi Kingston entered his 14th Rumble, but it didn’t last for long as Owens sent him out flying and he landed on the barricade, but h8is feet touch the floor.

#25- Otis

At number 25 was one-half of the Raw tag-team champion Otis. He displayed his brute power and strength by nailing a body slam on Drew McIntyre.

#26- Big E

At number 26 was the former WWE Champion Big E. He entered and hit Owens with a belly-to-belly, and followed the suit on Riddle.

#27- Bad Bunny

At number 27, it was a sheer surprise. It was Bad Bunny who wrestled at Wrestlemania 37. He went back & forth with Sheamus, Kevin Owens, and Dolph Ziggler. He eliminated both Sheamus and Dolph Ziggler.

#28- Shane McMahon

Shane O’Mac entered the Rumble at 28 with a huge pop, and at the same time, Rey Mysterio got eliminated by Otis.

#29- Randy Orton

The hometown boy Orton entered the Royal Rumble and the crowd went berserk. Randy entered and eliminated Big E, Otis with the help of his tag-team partner Riddle.

#30- Brock Lesnar

The Beast Brock Lesnar is the last entrant of this year’s Rumble, and he took out everyone.

-> Brock Lesnar eliminated Riddle

-> Brock Lesnar eliminated Shane McMahon

Finally, it was down to Drew McIntyre & Brock Lesnar. Drew eliminated Brock in the 2020 Royal Rumble and went on to win the Royal Rumble match. This time, however, Brock won the match by eliminating Drew McIntyre with an F5.

Edge & Beth Phoenix vs. Maryse & Miz- The ladies were the ones to start the proceedings and as soon as the bell rang, Maryse went outside and Beth started the chase. Maryse returned into the ring and it was a tug of war between Beth and Miz to take Maryse in possession.

Once Maryse was in, she tagged in Miz, which meant Edge had to be in action now. Edge started off ferociously and was going all over The Miz, until Maryse distracted Edge and soon the tables turned. Miz suddenly got the better of Edge and the latter was under the pump.

Edge somehow managed to hit a DDT on Miz and dragged himself to his corner to tag his wife. Beth was in action again. She first took out Maryse with ease and then shoved Miz into the corner. She was beating the hell out of Miz and was dragging him to the limit. Maryse then came from behind and hit Beth with her purse containing a brick, while the referee was attending Miz.

In the closing moments of the match, Miz & Maryse tried nailing a combined Skull Crushing Finale on Edge, but Beth Phoenix came to the rescue and hit Maryse with a spear. The GrIT couple combined together to hit a double spear on Miz. Edge then took Miz, and Beth took Maryse to hit a Glam Slam in unison. That was it as Edge pinned Miz to win the match.

WWE Championship: Bobby Lashley vs. Brock Lesnar (c)- The Dream bout began with a classic wrestling lock trying to overpower one another, The lock broke, and once again the two premier athletes got into a lock-up before Brock went for a Suplex, and Bobby stood up in a whisker of a second.

Another lock, and this time it was Bobby Lashley who stunned Brock with a Suplex, and the latter was smiling and appreciating Bobby’s effort. Brock then nailed two Suplex in a row on Bobby, but the All-Mighty once again stood up with ease. Brock was a bit perplexed now seeing Bobby get up off two back-to-back suplexes.

Bobby then took some time and nailed a Spear on Brock. He didn’t go for a cover, but again speared him and this time Brock went rolling outside the ring to buy himself some time. Lesnar was near the barricade now and Lashley tried bashing into him with another devastating spear, but Lesnar moved out of harm’s way, and Lashley bashed into the barricade.

Brock then brought Bobby Lashley back into the ring and nailed 6 Suplex on him before going for an F5 and the impact took out the referee as well. Lesnar went for a cover, but the referee wasn’t there to make the count. Taking advantage of this, Roman Reigns entered the scene and speared Brock Lesnar.

He then went towards Paul Heyman and asked him for the WWE title, which he easily handed to his Tribal Chief. Paul Heyman betrayed Lesnar, and Roman stuck the title on Lesnar’s skull. Lashley got up and pinned the champ, meanwhile, Paul Heyman walked out with Roman Reigns.

Raw Women’s Championship: Doudrop vs. Becky Lynch (c)- Doudrop was overpowering Becky Lynch right from the outset, Becky tried going for a waist lock, a headlock, but Doudrop had all the answers to Becky’s offense. Becky went outside the ring to buy herself some time and hit a nasty blow on the back of Doudrop’s head.

Becky was sneaking in with some offense, but Dooudrop was too strong for her and had all the answers to Becky’s offense. Doudrop dropped back-first on Becky’s spine and she went outside near the steel stairs. Doudrop tried running into her with a Cannon Ball, but the champ moved out of harm’s way and Doudrop bashed leg & back-first into the stairs.

Becky got the momentum she was looking for. Now Becky was coming up with her offense and was trash-talking with Doudrop. She was trash talking and slapped Doudrop on her face, which actually helped the latter to freak out with her offense.

Doudrop went for a body drop on Becky’s ribs and completely squashed her. She went for a cover, but Becky barely survived. Becky then went for a disarmer and converted it into an arm lock. doudrop, however, survived the submission by lifting Becky and slamming her with a Powerbomb.

The match continued, and we saw the two ladies exchanging their offense on the apron. After exchanging a few blows, Becky hit a leg drop on Doudrop who was hanging on the middle rope. Becky then tried going for the Manhandle Slam, but Doudrop was too heavy for her to lift.

In the closing moments of the match, we saw Doudrop hitting a vertical slam and dragging Becky to the corner for a sit-up drop. Becky, however, got up and chop blocked on the back of her right knee. She then climbed to the middle rope and dropped Droudrop with a Manhandle Slam to pick up a win and retain her title.

30-woman Royal Rumble match- Sasha Banks entered #1, meanwhile, it was the veteran Melina who entered the Rumble at #2.

Melina was full of emotions, and she didn’t last long as Sasha Banks eliminated her.

#3- Tamina

Tamina came at number 3, and before she could have entered the ring, Sasha hit her with a Baseball slide. Tamina was still outside, and Sasha Banks hit her with a double knee dive. The match continued after Tamiba was brought into the ring.

 

#4- Kelly Kelly

Number 4 was the former Women’s Champion Kelly Kelly. She lasted for around 2 minutes and got eliminated by Sasha Banks.

#5- Aliyah

Aliyah entered the rumble 5th and she went after Sasha Banks right from the word go.

 

#6- Liv Morgan

Number 6 was Liv Morgan who was seeking another opportunity at the Raw Women’s title. Banks, Aliyah, Liv Morgan & Tamina were in the ring now.

#7- Queen Zelina

Queen Zelina entered 7th and she pulled off a miraculous effort to send Sasha Banks packing.

#8- Bianca Belair

At number 8 it was the EST of WWE, Bianca Belair, who is also the winner of last year’s Royal Rumble match.

 

#9- Dana Brooke

24/7 Champion Dana Brooke entered the Rumble at the 9th spot. Aliyah, Dana Brooke, Tamina, Queen Zelina, Liv Morgan, and Bianca Belair were in the ring now.

#10- Michelle McCool

The veteran Michelle McCool entered the Rumble at number 10 and gave us the shades of her good old wrestling day, the Big Boot, her finisher, everything was on display. She eliminated Dana Brooke too.

#11- Sonya Deville

Sonya entered 11th and took a seat along with the commentary team instead of entering the ring. She told Corey Graves that she would enter the Rumble whenever she wants.

 

#12- Natalya

Natalya entered at the 12th spot, and made her presence felt by eliminating Tamina.

#13- Cameron

After almost a decade, Cameron made a return to WWE. She was an ally of Naomi during her wrestling days. Her presence forced Sonya Deville to remove her jacket, enter the Rumble and ultimately eliminate Cameron.

#14- Naomi

Naomi entered at the 14th spot and we got treated with a showdown between Naomi and Sonya Deville. Naomi first checked on her friend Cameron, entered the ring then and had a brawl with Sonya before eliminating her.

#15- Carmella

Carmella made an entry at number 15, but instead of going into the ring, she went to the announce desk and stood before her fiance Corey Graves.

 

#16- Rhea Ripley

The finalist of last year’s Rumble Rhea Ripley entered ay the 16th spot. She sent Carmella inside the ring and eliminated both Queen Zelina and Carmella all on her own.

#17- Charlotte Flair

Making an entry at number 17, the Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair. Without wasting much time, she eliminated Aliyah, who lasted for 23 minutes.

Charlotte then sent Naomi on the apron with a Powerbomb, but she was somehow hanging with her hands on the floor. However, Sonya Deville came and pulled Naomi out to eliminate her.

#18- Ivory

WWE veteran Ivory made a surprise return, but she was easily eliminated by Rhea Ripley.

#19- Brie Bella

One-half of the Bella Twins, the Hall of Gamer Brie Bella entered the Rumble at the 19th spot.

 

#20- Mickie James

The Impact Knockouts Champion and WWE’s veteran Mickie James entered at number 20. A veteran of the business was all fired up and she eliminated another veteran, i.e., Michelle McCool.

#21- Alicia Fox

Another WWE veteran Alicia Foz made an entry at the 21st spot.

 

#22- Nikki A.S.H

Nikki entered at #22 and Rhea Ripley was eagerly waiting for her. Nikki made her way into the ring from the timekeeper area and tried eliminating Rhea who was facing the entrance. Nikki, however, couldn’t send Rhea over the top rope.

 

#23- Summer Rae

Summer Raw, another former WWE diva, entered the Rumble at #23. She did go back& forth with Natalya but got eliminated by her.

#24- Nikki Bella

The Bella Twins were in the ring now and working in unison. Nikki eliminated Alicia Fox to start off her Royal Rumble.

-> Nikki Bella eliminated Alicia Fox

 

#25- Sarah Logan

Sarah Logan was the next to enter the Royal Rumble. She was released by the company last year, but is back now. However, her Rumble stay didn’t last long as she got eliminated by the Bella Twins.

The Bella Twins also eliminated Liv Morgan

-> Bella Twins eliminated Liv Morgan

 

#26- Lita

The most awaited entrant of the night has finally entered and the crowd goes berserk. Lita is in the Rumble, and she eliminates another veteran Mickie James.

#27- Molly Holly

Molly Holly got eliminated by Nikki A.S.H

-> Nikki A.S.H eliminated Molly Holly

 

#28- Ronda Rousey

The Baddest Woman on the planet is here, and the crowd is up on their feet. She eliminated Nikki A.S.H.

-> Ronda Rousey eliminated Nikki A.S.H

Brie Bella turned on her sister Nikki Bella to eliminate her.

-> Brie Bella eliminated Nikki Bella

 

#29- Shotzi

Shotzi entered the Rumble at the 29th spot. After her entry, Ronda eliminated Brie Bella.

-> Ronda Rousey eliminated Brie Bella

-> Ronda Rousey eliminated Natalya

 

#30- Shayna Baszler

Baszler was the final entrant in the Rumble match. After her entry, Ronda eliminated Shotzi.

-> Ronda Rousey eliminated Shotzi

-> Charlotte eliminated Lita

-> Charlotte eliminated Rhea Ripley

-> Charlotte eliminated both Shayna Baszler and Bianca Belair

We are now left with only two women’s Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair. The two ladies get involved in a staredown and it didn’t took Ronda much time to eliminate Charlotte Flair and win the women’s Royal Rumble 2022 match.

Universal Championship: Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns (c)- First up is the Universal Championship match. Roman Reigns to defend his title against Seth Rollins in a match where his cousins The Usos are barred from the ringside. Will Roman be able to win without the help of his cousins? Let’s find out.

Roman Reigns was the first one to come out, and Seth Rollins came out on the famous Shield’s music and donning the same ‘Shield’ gear. He made his way to the ring through the crowd, the way The Shield (Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns) used to make its way into the ring.

Roman was totally perplexed seeing Rollins in The Shield gear. He tried going for a waist lock but Seth was too quick to counter. Soon in the early stages of the match, we saw Rollins sending Roman over the top rope and going for a suicide dive from between the top and middle rope not once but twice.

Rollins was on the money, but Reigns returned with a strike on Seth’s face when the latter took the flight from the top rope. Roman then set Rollins for a drive-by and nailed it perfectly. Reigns then tried for a running dive from the steel stairs, but Rollins caught him and hit him with a Shield Bomb on the announce desk.

Rollins then took Roman inside and went for a frog splash. He then hit him with a neck breaker, followed it up by a buckle bomb, and finally the Curb Stomp. He then went for a pinfall, but Roman barely survived before the third count.

Rollins was rolling and he was laughing at Roman’s face despite missing out on the pinfall. Roman now came up with his offense with a Powerbomb and started his assault. Roman sent him crashing into the corner post and sent him into the barricade on the outside.

Roman then rolled Rollins inside the ring and nailed a perfect Superman Punch. He went for a cover, but Rollins kicked out at 2. Rollins then went outside to buy himself some time but Roman followed him and hit him with a spear on the floor.

Roman then rolled Rollins back into the ring and tried going for yet another spear, but Rollins countered it with a Pedigree. In the closing moments, we saw Roman hitting Rollins with a Spear, the third of the match. When he went for a cover, Seth was laughing at his face and disrespecting him.

Roman was irate to see Rollins laughing. He decided to go for his Gaiety Submission and locked it perfectly on Rollins. Rollins was about to fade but he somehow made his way to the bottom rope to break the submission.
