Vega’s big push started last year when she won the first-ever “Queen’s Crown” tournament. Following that she won her first-ever championship alongside Carmella by winning the Women’s Tag Team Championships. Her reign as Champion lasted till WrestleMania 38.
In a recent report from PWInsider, it has been revealed that an injury is a reason behind Zelina Vega’s absence on WWE tv. She recently had surgery and is expected to be out of action for 6-8 weeks.
“The belief among those we’ve spoken to is that she’ll likely be out of action another 6-8 weeks, which means she’d be available to return around Summerslam. There has been talking about her receiving a push upon her return as sources have noted her willingness to do what was requested of her and her hard work has been noticed behind the scenes.”
Since Vega’s injury, even Carmella hasn’t been included in any top-notch feud. She is often seen in a few backstage segments.
Zelina Vega to Receive a Huge Push on Return to the WWE Raw
According to rumors, Vince McMahon is a big fan of Zelina Vega. In the year 2020, there were many sackings due to superstars using third-party platforms and budget cuts. While many had bad blood with the company, Vega was the only one who was brought back.
Where fans are concerned, there are mixed reviews about Zelina Vega. Some feel she should get a push while some feel she should not. Her return will see her back into the Women’s Tag Team Championship picture. It will be interesting to see if she is included in the Raw or SmackDown Women’s Championship picture. We should surely see Vega before WWE Money in the Bank 2022.
