In round 1 of the World Heavyweight Championship tournament, Seth Rollins, Damian Priest, and Shinsuke Nakamura faced each other in a Triple Threat Match. However, Rollins dominated the other two and emerged victorious.
On the other hand, in round 2 of the World Heavyweight Championship Tournament, Finn Balor, Cody Rhodes, and The Miz faced each other. However, owing to a distraction caused by Brock Lesnar, Finn Balor pinned The Miz for the win.
It was previously mentioned that the winners of the Triple Threat Matches will face each other in the main event of Monday Night Raw and the winner of the main event will be the first finalist for the World Heavyweight championship. World Heavyweight Championship Semi-Final: Finn Balor vs Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins and Finn Balor showcased a masterclass of a match. The match began with Finn Balor taking down Seth Rollins. Rollins then delivered a Sling blade and Balor power-bombed Rollins.
Rollins came with a backbreaker and Balor came with a sling blade. The duo continued to charge furiously at each other, showcasing their athleticism in between. Balor then attempted the Coup de Grace but Rollins countered it with a Pedigree.
Finally, Rollins went for the Stomp but missed it. The visionary once again went for it and nailed it for the win. Thus, Seth Rollins defeated Finn Balor and became the first finalist for the World Heavyweight Championship.
