WWE Raw Results & Highlights:

The Miz & Maryse wedding segment: WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff walked down to the podium first as he was the officiator of the ceremony.

Bischoff was in the ring and he first called out the groom The Miz followed by the bride Maryse. The bride and groom were in the ring now and The Miz started off by recalling 2021 that he became the WWE Champion once again, dominated Dancing with the Stars, and then how his wife Maryse made a triumph return to WWE.

The Miz didn’t forget to mention the Rated-R Superstar Edge and told the WWE Universe that he is far better than Edge. Miz was on the money in passing comments on the Detroit crowd and calling them disastrous. Bischoff then asked the bride & groom to exchange their wedding vows. Once it was done, out came the Rated-R Superstar Edge to interrupt their wedding segment.

Edge didn’t launch himself on Miz but grabbed the mic already in the ring and exchanged a few words with The Miz. He said that he wasn’t here to spoil the wedding but he was here only to embarrass the couple. Edge first looked here and there and made Miz a bit frenzy, then he told him that he was playing mind games and asked him if he is going to have the wedding in whites?

With a wicked smile, Edge went outside the ring and suddenly the arena turned red. It was the Brood music and everything was red for a while. All of sudden black water fell from the top and Miz & Maryse had to get embarrassed by the Brood bath orchestrated by the Ultimate Opportunist Edge.

United States Championship- Damian Priest vs. Dolph Ziggler: As the bell rang, Ziggler and Priest went after each other. Ziggler was ducking Priest’s offense and he succeeded for a while before finally getting caught with a big boot of the United States Champion.

Priest was now dominating the proceedings and was up with his offense. He was all over Ziggler and wasn’t letting him settle down at all. The two men went outside near the announce table and we saw Damian Priest throwing Ziggler to the timekeeper area before going into commercials.

As we returned from the commercial, we saw both men fighting it out in the middle of the ring and Dolph Ziggler stunned the champ with a face-first on the mat with the back of the leg. Dolph Ziggler was trash-talking with the United States Champion which snapped the champ.

Priest went for a spinning kick and then nailed a perfect broken arrow before taking him out in the corner. Dolph was struggling but wasn’t giving up on trash-talking with the United States Champion. Along with the trash-talking Ziggler slapped Priest on the face which made him livid. Preist then launched on Ziggler with a series of strikes and took him to the corner. He unloaded on Ziggler and the referee had to disqualify the bout as Priest didn’t stop after the referee’s 4 counts.

WWE Raw Results and Highlights: Dolph Ziggler won via DQ

Priest didn’t stop even after the match got over. He took out Ziggler outside the ring slammed him back-first on the barricade before nailing a perfect Reckoning near ringside.

Kevin Owens vs. Cedric Alexander: The match started after the commercial, and Kevin Owens was all over him. Kevin took Cedric to the corner and nailed a Cannon Ball. He then hoisted Cedric and placed a perfect knee to the head suplex. Owens was looking good and was going for a pop-up powerbomb, but Cedric returned with his offense.

He sent Owens outside the ring and went for a running dive on the outside. Cedric then rolled Owens inside the ring and went back and forth with his offense. He first kicked Owens on the face from the apron and then slammed him head-first on the mat. Alexander was rolling but all of a sudden Owens nailed a Powerbomb followed by a Stunner to finish Cedric Alexander.

After the match got over, Shelton Benjamin came into the ring but got welcomed with a Stunner from Owens.

Kevin Owens in the ring: Kevin Owens addressed the WWE Universe and was talking about his preparation for the WWE Championship match at the WWE Day 1 PPV. He discussed his strategy and said that logically he is the one winning at Day 1 as the odds are favoring him. He was talking when MVP interrupted his segment.

MVP was there to glorify the chances of Bobby Lashley at WWE Day 1 and also appreciated Kevin Owens for the strategy he stitched to get the better of Bobby Lashley and Big E last week. The segment was then interrupted by the Hurt Business (Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander).

Owens thought MVP came up with a plan, but that wasn’t the case. The two men arrived on their own and soon after a few exchanges of words between the Hurt Business and Kevin Owens, Owens challenged Alexander for a match.

AJ Styles vs. Apollo Crews: Instead of Commander Azeez, Apollo Crews challenged AJ and the match started after the commercial. Crews and AJ went back and forth with their offense right after the bell rang. Crews sent AJ flying with a huge back body drop and all of a sudden Styles was under the pump in the initial stages of the match.

AJ then tumbled Apollo Crews through the middle rope and sent him outside. The Phenomenal was set to deliver a high-risk offense from the apron, but Apollo pulled his leg and he had a nasty face-first on the canvas. Crews then took AJ up and slammed him back-first on the apron. We now go into commercials.

After the commercials, the two men were in the ring exchanging blows and AJ hit Crews with a Pele Kick. Just when we thought AJ got an opening, Styles was hoisted up by Crews for a powerbomb. Crews went for a cover but AJ kicked out at 2. Apollo was trying yet another offense, but AJ went up on the top turnbuckle and nailed a perfect inverted DDT.

We even saw Commander Azeez helping Crews by helping him escape from AJ Styles’ Phenomenal Forearm. In the closing moments of the saw, we did see Crews slamming AJ back-first on the apron, but Styles ended Crews with a Styles Clash.

After the match got over, Commander Azeez tried to get the better of AJ, but he escaped the ring. Later, when Commander Azeez was attending an exhausted Crews, AJ hit him with a Phenomenal Forearm.

In the ring: AJ Styles is in the ring and he was calling out Omos to have his match. It seemed like Omos wasn’t here tonight. AJ was calling out Omos again and again before he saw Grayson Waller, the NXT Superstar, among the crowd holding a placard reading, “Grayson Waller effect is Phenomenal.” AJ called him in and introduced him to the WWE Universe.

AJ ensured that Grayson wasn’t accepted well by the WWE Universe and humiliated him. He even challenged him for a match but before Waller could have said anything, an unexpected pair interrupted the segment. It was Apollo Crews along with Commander Azeez.

Apollo told AJ that Omos isn’t here tonight then why doesn’t he take his 7 feet tall friend Commander Azeez. Azeez challenged AJ and the Phenomenal One accepted the challenge. The match is up next.

Backstage: The Miz was seen working on the perfection of her wedding. He introduces WWE Hall of Famer and former Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff who will be officiating Miz & Maryse’s wedding ceremony.

The Mysterio’s vs. The Street Profits: The match started off with Monte Ford and Dominik Mysterio. Both men were displaying immaculate athleticism, strength, and quickness and not letting each other stand tall. Ford gave the tag to Dawkins, and Dominik with a quick offense tagged his father Rey.

Rey and Dawkins were the legal men now and were on the money with their offense. Rey and Dominik were tagging in each other simultaneously and not letting the Street Profits settle down. We saw Rey sending Ford outside the ring and with a dropkick on the apron to Dawkins, he too was sent outside. Dominik was the legal men and the father-son ran through the bottom rope to launch themselves on the Street Profits. We now head into commercials.

After the commercial, we saw Dominik and Montez Ford fighting each other in the ring. After a back & forth offense, both men exchanged tags with their teammates. Rey set Dawkins for a 619, but the latter returned with a spinning elbow to stun and rock Rey Mysterio.

Dawkins then tagged in Ford who went for a frog splash. It was a monstrous frog splash and Ford went for a cover, however, Dominik saved the day for his team. It was an intense battle and none of the team was willing to give up. At one point we saw Rey nailing a perfect 619 on Ford and Dominik following it up with a Frog Splash but Ford still kicked out.

Finally, in the closing moments of the match, Dawkins set Rey Mysterio chest-first onto the floor through the bottom rope and hoisted Dominik on his shoulders. Montez Ford then went for a takedown from the top turnbuckle to end Mysterio’s resilience and become the new #1 contender for the Raw tag-team championship.

Reggie & Dana Brooke vs. R-Truth & Tamina: The mixed tag-team match was started by R-Truth and Reggie. Reggie offered a handshake, but Truth held his hand and got him in a side headlock. The two men exchanged their offense for a while before bumping into each other getting floored. Truth then tagged in Tamina, and Brooke was the legal one from the other side, but not before Tamina rocked Reggie with a superkick.

Brooke and Tamina went back & forth with their offense and Tamina looked strong. Tamina was closing on for a win, but R-Truth took the tag and forced Reggie to come into the ring (mixed tag-team match rules). The two men started off with their offense and finally, with a roll-up Reggie got the win for his team.

Owens then started off by saying whatever he did last week to Big E and Lashley was all his plan. Seth did help him, but it was his plan which was too good. He then emphasized the fact that he will capture the WWE Title at the PPV event.

Randy Orton vs. Otis- The match started after a commercial. Right after the bell rang, it was Otis who was overpowering the decorated 14-time World Champion. Randy tried going for an RKO early on, but Otis denied it and went for a body drop right on Randy’s chest.

Randy was feeling the heat and Otis went for a diving headbutt on the Apex Predator. In the meantime, Otis denied yet another RKO by pushing Randy outside the ring. Otis followed him on the outside and tried to smash Randy through the steel stairs, but Randy escaped harm’s way and Otis ran knee-first into the steel stairs.

Randy went inside the ring and waited for Otis to get in. Otis tried getting into the ring but Randy caught him with a vicious middle rope DDT. He then tried going for an RKO but again Otis denied it. This time Otis caught him with a body slam.

Now, Otis went to the top-turnbuckle for a body dive, but Randy escaped harm’s way and then finally hit an RKO to Otis to secure a win.

Chad Gable vs. Riddle- The two men started off with a classic wrestling before Gable held Riddle from behind for a takedown. Gable soon shifted his focus on Riddle’s left arm before the Original Bro held him in a triangle. Gable made it to the bottom rope and Riddle had to leave the hold.

The two men went back & forth with their offense before Gable took the driver’s seat when he attacked Riddle’s left leg. Gable was working on Riddle’s left leg and making it tough for him to survive. He even went for an angle lock during the match, but Riddle survived the hold.

In the closing moments of the match, Riddle rocked Gable with a knee to his face and then went up on the top turnbuckle for a reverse moonsault. That was it, the moonsault was placed perfectly and Gable lost the match.

Randy Orton & Riddle kick off the show- Raw tag-team champion Riddle & Randy Orton kick off the show by welcoming the WWE Universe to the final Raw of 2021.

Riddle with his stupid yet funny talks was annoying Randy but the latter was trying to keep calm and told him how the new year can be happy for him and RK-Bro. He said that if he beats Otis tonight, and if they (RK-Bro) retain their titles on Saturday at the WWE Day 1 PPV then it will be a Happy New Year. Randy also rolled footage from last week and showed him how Otis survived not one, not two but three RKO’s.

While Randy was talking, Otis & Gable interrupted the segment. Gable came out with the mic and started bragging about the Alpha academy and told RK-Bro that he has taken a masters degree and he is an elite now. Both teams exchanged a few words before Riddle threw a challenge to Gable to face him one-on-one in a match right away. Gable accepted and the match is on now.
