Recently, JBL came out of retirement and made an appearance on WWE RAW and aligned himself with Baron Corbin who was traded to the red brand in exchange for Rey Mysterio. WWE RAW: JBL sheds light on the possibility of becoming world champion again
JBL was a guest on WWE’s The Bump, where he spoke about the possibility of wrapping the WWE gold once again around his waist. He mentioned that if Corbin was not there he would have been the world champion again. Bradshaw was also confident while predicting Corbin as a future world champion.
“They asked Bobby Charlton one time – the great soccer player from England – how would you do against the Iceland team when they were doing so well? He said, ‘Well, we’d probably win 3-2.’ They go, ‘Only 3-2?’ He goes, ‘we’re all 70 years old’,” JBL said. “That’s how I feel now. At 55, I could come right in, right now, if Baron weren’t here, and be world champion. But Baron’s here, so there’s no reason for me to because Baron’s gonna be world champion.” H/T: WrestleZone

WWE RAW: JBL reveals why he came out of retirement
Bradshaw further spoke about his decision to make a comeback. In the same episode of the Bump, he explained that he only returned because of Baron Corbin. He compared Corbin to some of the other top stars in the company and rated the former as the greatest.

“Hall of Famers and legends don’t come back to manage somebody that’s not gonna be a world champion. I came back for one reason and one reason only. It’s Baron Corbin. You talk about [Johnny] Gargano, you talk about Kevin Owens, you talk about AJ Styles. Terrific competitors. Some are great champions. They’re not Baron Corbin, and that is the difference,” said JBL.
