WWE News: Dutch Mantell on Gunther vs Rey Mysterio: The masked Luchador has always been a fan favorite since he debuted in the promotion during the Attitude Era. He has worked with the company’s top heels and usually gets fan’s support irrespective of his opponent. Before making his move to SmackDown, the Mexican was involved with a storyline with his son which saw Dominik go against his father. Not being able to tolerate the humiliation and not wanting to fight his son, Rey Mysterio struck a deal with Triple H. He was then traded to the blue brand. He replaced Karrion Kross in a fatal-four-way contest to determine the number one contender to face Gunther. The high-flying superstar emerged victorious on his return to SmackDown and also followed it up with a win against Ludwig Kaiser.

While speaking on Smack Talk, WWE veteran Dutch Mantell believes that Gunther will be facing a lot of heat as his storyline with Rey moves forward.

“And with Gunther and little Rey, now you see Gunther getting a little heat. When he starts beating up little Rey, they love him, and I think that Gunther is going to get some strong heat now. So, we’ll see.” (via- RSN)

Rey Mysterio feels he can beat Gunther without backup

The three-time world champion felt confident about beating Gunther after defeating Imperium member Ludwig Kaiser.

Speaking to WWE correspondent Megan Morant in SmackDown LowDown, the 47-year-old explained that he has his eyes set on the Intercontinental Championship.

“I feel incredible. I just felt like I never left. SmackDown has always been my home since 2002 since I debuted. So, I’m still here. (H/T – Sportskeeda)

For those who are unaware, Mysterio has won the intercontinental Championship twice before. Can he wrap the gold around his waist for the third time? Sound off in the comments section below!
