WWE Raw: WWE has suspended Matt Riddle due to WWE Wellness Policy violation
Last week, WWE Universe saw Solo Sikoa decimating Matt Riddle following his loss to The Usos. The segment featured Solo Sikoa brutally assaulting the King of Bros following a Samoan Spike. Eventually, the segment ended with WWE’s medical team stretching out Matt Riddle and announcing a 6-weeks injury break for him. However, Riddle is not injured and he is suspended by WWE for a wellness policy violation.
As per Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net, WWE suspended the Raw star due to failed drug test. The company regularly tests its superstars and hardly anyone fails the drug test. Unfortunately, Riddle is found guilty of this failed drug test and WWE had put him on the shelf for a short time.
“Sources have told me that the reason that Matt Riddle failed a drug test leading up to SummerSlam, this was also the last test under Vince McMahon’s regime. With Vince no longer in charge, a “new creative direction” was taken regarding Riddle, and his big match against Rollins was postponed until Clash at the Castle. Additionally, I was told that the company informed Riddle at the time that another failed drug test would result in a “rehab or fired” situation similar to what happened with Jeff Hardy previously.”
Earlier this year, Riddle failed his drug test before SummerSlam and this is the second time the former US Champion failed. In this case, WWE has full authority to fire or terminate his contract or put him in rehab until he clears the needed drug test. Moreover, WWE can also impose a serious fine on the superstar violating the wellness policy.
