WWE News: WWE possibly targeting a major city to host SummerSlam 2023: Check Out
As per recent reports, WWE is targeting a major city for the 2023 SummerSlam Premium Live Event. Every year, WWE targets different cities to represent the thrill of SummerSlam or any other famous PLE. Earlier this year, WWE booked Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.

As per Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, the company is having eyes on the city of Detroit, Michigan in the northeastern part of the USA. However, the location isn’t finalized yet.
“Fightful Select has learned that a front-runner for the 2023 summer spectacular is Detroit, Michigan. Though we’ve not heard that anything is finalized. WWE sources have indicated that Detroit was being looked at to those the show in recent months.”
As noted, WWE hasn’t been to that area for a long time for a SummerSlam PLE and the company is willing to target Detroit. The last time was in 1993 at the Palace of Auburn Hills, where the Detroit Pistons formerly played.
Earlier this year, there were speculations regarding WWE targeting a major city in Canada for SummerSlam. A few months back, the Rated R Superstar gave a promo where he highlighted his career is nearing its end and he would possibly retire next year around August. WWE might possibly book SummerSlam in the former WWE Champion’s hometown.

On the other hand, WWE has already booked the 2023 Elimination Chamber in the city of Montreal in Quebec, Canada. The company has also released a poster featuring several WWE superstars.
