AJ made his unexpected debut at the 2016 Royal Rumble, meanwhile, Edge returned from an impossible career-ending injury at the 2020 Royal Rumble PPV, sending chills among the spine of every pro-wrestling fan.

Styles recently appeared on WWE’s The Bump, where he talked about his previous encounter with Edge and then hinted at possibly facing the Rated-R Superstar in a dream bout. On asked about his first encounter with Edge (which took place during the 2020 Royal Rumble match), AJ said,

“Absolutely, I think the last time Edge and I were in the ring together he separated my shoulder with a spear. Which was, you know, the way it should have been. But we need to get back in the ring with a one-on-one match and get this thing over with. I want this match. He wants this match. When is it gonna happen? We are getting close.”

WWE’s road to Wrestlemania 38 will begin with Royal Rumble PPV, which happens to be this Saturday at The Dome’s in St Louis, Missouri. AJ Styles will be competing in the 30-man Royal Rumble match at the PPV, whereas, Edge will team up with his wife Beth Phoenix to take on The Miz & Maryse.
