WWE News Updates: Triple H Reveals a New Change Direction for the Company- Speaking to The Athletic this week, Triple H revealed the changes in WWE’s Recruitment policy. The Godfather of NXT who brought in so many indie stars claimed WWE looks more at college athletes now.
“The tryouts we did before, where there were a lot of athletes and experienced indie guys, I don’t think there’s any less of a ‘That’s a rock star.’ The indie stuff, half of it is, ‘He’s a good in-ring performer, but the rest is a mystery. He’s got bad habits I have to get him out of.’ This is almost cleaner. It’s a blank slate.”
“The numbers force us to be more regimented. We used to be like, ‘Well, he’s only been here a year, let’s give him more time, see if he picks it up.’ Now we know there’s a six-month coming in the door of adapt, get rolling, and then we’re looking at your aptitude for this. We know in that six months — and some won’t make it that long.”
WWE News Updates: Triple H Reveals a New Change Direction for the Company- WWE currently has changed everything about NXT changing the direction, presentation, and messaging of the brand. The show is now called NXT 2.0, it remains a developmental show for Raw and SmackDown with a lot of superstars under the age of 30.
The likes of Bron Breaker, Grayson Waller, Toxic Attraction, Solo Sikoa, and more have replaced the likes of Adam Cole, Keith Lee, Mercedez Martinez, and so on. As life in WWE moves on, WWE will continue to sign younger stars who they can build for the future. The best example being WWE signing American Gold Medalist Gable Steveson.
