A few weeks back, Pat McAfee mentioned taking a break from his duties temporarily. The NFL Punter broke the news of joining ESPN’s ‘College Game’ broadcast full-time last month. However, WWE fans are wondering when will they possibly see the color commentator back in WWE.
As per Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Pat McAfee will possibly join back WWE next year in January 2023. Meltzer added Pat McAfee will join the team back but there is no light on whether the blue brand will feature three commentators.

Recently, WWE announced the new announce teams for all three brands with the latest joining of WWE Hall of Famer Booker T on the NXT brand. Moreover, the blue brand will feature a known face, namely Wade Barrett. Earlier, he was a part of the NXT commentary team.

In recent months, Pat McAfee played a key role in delivering high-profile matches with the superstars like Happy Corbin and Theory. The NFL Punter joined the company in 2018 and competed in a handful of matches on the Black and Gold brand.
Pat McAfee competed in his last match at SummerSlam against Happy Cobrin with a successful win. The NFL Punter has been quite reliable for WWE, allowing him to participate in several matches in major Premium Live Events. Moreover, WWE fans have praised the SmackDown commentator tremendously for his wrestling skills.
