WWE News: Potential Update on Triple H bringing William Regal back to WWE
For weeks, rumors surfaced regarding William Regals’ potential return to WWE despite being under an AEW contract. According to PWInsider and Fightful Select, the former NXT manager will be back in the company in no time. Also, the recent attack on Regal on AEW Dynamite showed signs of his return. However, he is still under a multi-year contract with AEW.
Recently, Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live gave his opinion on the possibility of William Regal’s return. He mentioned the recent incident on AEW where MJF turned on Regal and attacked him which further led to Regal being stretched out from the ring.
Alvarez said, ” I have not been told outright that he is gone but based on several things, I believe he’s gone. He’s no longer going to be in AEW. I don’t know this for a fact that he is going back to WWE imminently but this is what I can tell you for a fact…The belief among people within WWE is that when he signed with AEW, he essentially had an agreement where if Triple H returns to power, he can go back to WWE. And Triple H is now back in power. The belief within WWE is that is what is going on. He is going back to WWE and it was part of an agreement that he made when he signed and Triple H is now back in power and so William Regal is returning. Alvarez also mentioned Regal’s health issues which also may be one of the reasons for William Regal’s will to join WWE back.
Triple H and William Regal are good friends for a long time and Regal played a key role in WWE backstage to uplift the NXT brand to a whole new level. However, Vince McMahon got rid of Regal who didn’t see much importance in him. But since The Game’s return, he brought many superstars back and he will definitely need Regal by his side.
