Theory’s run in WWE saw the rise of his career as the United States Champion and becoming the youngest Mr. Money in the Bank. Eventually, he also became a threat to Roman Reigns’ championship reign lurking behind. However, many WWE fans and other wrestling personalities saw him as being on top too early which also affected the Theory as well.
Recently, Austin Theory appeared on SiriuxXM’s Busted Open Radio where the US Champion looked back at his Money in the Bank briefcase reign and recalled being under constant pressure due to the briefcase.
“I think the briefcase is where it got a lot of controversy,” Theory said. “Basically, it just kind of was getting to the point if you were looking at it from like a widescale of ‘where’s this going,’ you look at Roman Reigns, he’s pretty much immortal right now. So, I think, for me, in a sense of, I need to be way more built up to look even possible to beat Roman Reigns. The briefcase was just kind of an anchor on me.” [H/T WrestlingInc]
Austin Theory will defend his United States at the Elimination Chamber
Austin Theory has successfully defended his United States Title against Bobby Lashley last week at Raw is XXX. Heading into Elimination Chamber, WWE announced Theory to defend his United States Title at the Elimination Chamber against the other 6 superstars.

Currently, Seth Rollins, Johnny Gargano, and Bronson Reed advanced to the Elimination Chamber spots for a potential title shot. Next week, two more men will have a chance to advance to Elimination Chamber. In recent months, the United States Title has become a major title on the red brand and WWE superstars are trying their best to get a taste of it.
