WWE News: This latest WWE news piece is regarding the Summerslam PPV event. After an overwhelming success of Summerslam 2021, it seems like the company is planning to bring back one of their premier PPV events to the United Kingdom after 30 long years.
1992 was the last time when Summerslam took place in the United Kingdom, with Wembley Stadium being the host. The main event of that Summerslam was a grueling Intercontinental Championship match between Bret “The Hitman” Hart and The British Bulldog.

WWE News: What would the venue be if Summerslam 2022 takes place in the United Kingdom?
Wembley Stadium played its part in 1992, but 30 years later it doesn’t seem like the stadium will once again host the picturesque PPV event. According to Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT, The Principality Stadium in Cardiff is rumored to be the front-runner to host Summerslam 2022. He shared the news on his Twitter post by writing,
“Been working on this one for a couple of weeks…The Principality Stadium in Cardiff is the front-runner for SummerSlam in the UK next year. Meetings took place during the tour last week and great progress was made on a WWE UK PPV.”
WWE had a mini-tour to the United Kingdom last week, where the country’s favorite son Drew McIntyre had a match against Jinder Mahal. McIntyre worked brilliantly throughout the bout at got over Jinder. After the win, the Scottish Warrior celebrated with the passionate hometown fans there.

WWE News: Summerslam 2022 in the UK should be one massive news for the fans there
The fans in the United Kingdom and especially in Cardiff must be stoked after hearing this proposed news. The Principality Stadium in Cardiff capacitates around 75,000 fans at once and has a raisable roof that could be used in bad weather, especially when it rains.
