Forming Alliances – Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton
In June 2008, Rhodes formed an alliance with DiBiase. Later the duo earned Randy Orton’s respect and joined ‘The Legacy’. ‘The Legacy’ was an American Professional Wrestling stable in WWE consisting of Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, Manu and Sim Snuka. After joining Orton, Rhodes and DiBiase helped Orton in winning the 2009 Royal Rumble. Over the course of 2009, both Rhodes and DiBiase helped Randy Orton win the Championship three times. However, Orton being more senior than the rest seemed to physically attack Rhodes and others. This led to a split between Orton and Rhodes.
In January 2019, Rhodes joined AEW as its executive vice president and wrestler. However, owing to certain circumstances Rhodes left AEW and returned to WWE in February 2022.
The Reunion
After coming back to WWE, on April 25, 2022, Cody Rhodes reunited with Randy Orton for a single night. The duo teamed up with Riddle and Ezekiel and successfully defeated Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, and The Usos in an Eight Man Tag Team Match.

Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes’ Real-Life Friendship
Randy Orton never left WWE while Rhodes joined AEW. Though Orton and Rhodes were not under the same roof, they kept their friendship intact.
Present Situation
As of now, Cody Rhodes has made a major comeback in WWE. Rhodes suffered an injury and was out of wrestling for quite some time. However, he made his comeback by participating in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match 2023 where he successfully outlasted everyone else along with eliminating 5 wrestlers to grab the winning spot.
On the other hand, Randy Orton was last seen inside the ring on May 20, 2022. He suffered a major back injury and has not returned to WWE since then. It has been a long time and fans are curious to see him again.
If Randy Orton decides to make a comeback soon, we might get to see another reunion between Rhodes and Orton.
