Last Night, Rey Mysterio’s music hit at No.17 but he was nowhere to be seen. Following his absence, his son Dominik Mysterio made his entrance with his father’s face mask which is a big pride for the Luchador. Meanwhile, fans gave their opinions on the former Royal Rumble winner’s absence and called it kayfabe to write off Mysterio off-TV.

Recently, former WWE Superstar James Ellsworth stepped in to weigh the hot topic of Rey Mysterio not being eliminated from the Rumble. Ellsworth took to his Twitter and recalled a moment back in 1991 when WWE Hall of Famer Macho-Man Randy Savage didn’t appear in the Rumble. Precisely, he recalled one of the commentators calling a superstar DQ if he fails to enter the Rumble.

As per a recent report from PWInsider, the Master of 619 was indeed scheduled for his Royal Rumble appearance but WWE pulled him off at the last minute due to Mysterio suffering a serious injury.
The report stated the former US Champion took a “bang” a night before the Royal Rumble during his match with Karrion Kross on WWE SmackDown. Although WWE had taken measures for Mysterio, the creative team decided to pull the veteran out of Rumble. Also, WWE had special plans for Rey and Dominik Mysterio to build their rivalry during the Rumble.

Unfortunately, WWE fans saw Dominik Mysterio competing in the Rumble alongside his Judgment Day members where he eliminated Edge.
