WWE News: Daniel Bryan’s status with WWE seems to be done and dusted. As per the latest WWE news, the former World Champion has not been discussed internally for a possible return to the company. Also, as per PWInsider, Daniel Bryan is not listed as a part of WWE’s internal roster. According to PWInsider, “Internally, there has been no discussion of Bryan returning to WWE, and he is not listed on the company’s roster.”
WWE News: Daniel Bryan’s contract expired last year
Daniel Bryan has served WWE for years, but his contract came to an end last year. The company made good use of his contract expiration in a storyline as they put him in a match against Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship, where if he losses, he would be banished from the Blue brand.
The report further confirmed that,
“Bryan was not part of a recent list of talent plans for licensing and merchandising for 2021-2022 that was recently put together by the company for internal use.
Bryan is not slated for any future Mattel action figure wave releases.”

WWE News: Is Daniel Bryan heading to AEW?
In recent times, AEW has made good use of WWE’s released talents. From Jon Moxley to Chris Jericho, Miro (Rusev) to Sting, Malakai Black to Andrade, AEW has not missed out on signing the talented superstars released by WWE.
With Bryan not a part of the recent list of talent plans for merchandising and licensing for 2021-2022, it seems like he would be heading to other promotions, most probably to AEW. Some people within WWE have been counting that Bryan will eventually sign with AEW, but this is just a rumor as Bryan has not confirmed anything regarding this. As of now, Daniel Bryan has been listed in WWE’s Alumni Roster.
