WWE India: During the Moffettnathanson Conference Talk, the CEO of WWE, Nick Khan, announced that WWE will hold a live event in India in September 2023. Whether the event will be a premium live event or a house show is yet to be known. An official announcement regarding the details of the live event is yet to be made. Possible Host City for WWE India Live Event in September 2023
WWE Superstars such as John Cena, Kane, Mark Henry, Kofi Kingston, Triple H, Braun Strowman, Charlotte Flair, and others have visited India as a part of their promotional tours. They have also visited the country as a part of several live events.
World Wrestling Entertainment has held different events in India in different cities. For instance, a match between Bret Hart and Tatanka for the WWF World Heavyweight Championship was held in Mumbai, Maharastra on February 1996. While, a match between Kane and Chris Jericho was held in Bangalore, Karnataka in November 2022. Again, Roman Reigns vs Big Show was held in New Delhi on January 2016.
However, the last few events that WWE organized in India were all held in New Delhi. WWE Live Tour India 2016 which took place on January 15, and January 16, 2016, was held in New Delhi. Also, the last WWE event that took place in India, in 2017 was also held in New Delhi. It was the WWE Live India Supershow and featured a match between Triple H and Jinder Mahal.
Thus, there’s a huge possibility that the Stamford-based Promotion will once again choose their last and most selected city (New Delhi) as the host city for their upcoming live event in India in September 2023.
