WrestleMania 39 Results: Austin Theory defeats his childhood idol, John Cena
John Cena and Austin Theory competed in a much-anticipated match as everything was at stake. Both men went on a war against each other with their electrifying moves. Since the beginning, the US Champ mocked Cena with his cheap tricks and trash talk.
However, the 16-time champion went wild to take down his opponent. With some powerful moves, John Cena brought Austin Theory on his knees and locked him in an STF. Surprisingly, Theory escaped the STF biting Cena’s fingers. Later, the tables turned as the champion took control of the match until the Prototype returned with consecutive slams followed by a Five-Knuckle Shuffle.
WWE fans in attendance were cheering for their favorite star to win until the unthinkable happened. In the final moments of the match, John Cena tried to deliver an Attitude Adjustment when he accidentally knocked out the match referee. This allowed Austin Theory to do his dirty work, delivering a low blow to John Cena, followed by an A-Town Down, pinning the 16-time champion.

Austin Theory prevailed in his mission to win the biggest match of his carer. But John Cena predicted that Theory would falter due to his significant career triumph. However, WWE had something else planned for the U.S. champion. The perfect scenario for Theory to successfully defend the title in an open challenge on WWE Raw following WrestleMania is set up, but Theory will instead lose the belt to a relative unknown like Bron Breakker or perhaps even free agency Jay White.
