WPL 2023 Auction Venue: WPL Auction 2023: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on January 25, announced the successful bidders for the Women’s Premier League (WPL). Five teams were purchased for a combined value of ₹4669.99 crore, which is more than what was shelled out for the inaugural men’s Indian Premier League (IPL). WPL 2023 Auction Date and Venue
As previously stated by the BCCI, Mumbai will be announced as the venue for the WPL Auction. On February 13, the WPL 2023 Player auction will take place at the Jio World Centre in BKC.
The Jio Centre also becomes available after the Mumbai Comic Con on the 11th and 12th, and the Indian board had problems finding a hotel.
“Auction will be held in Mumbai on 13th Feb. Franchises are comfortable with the date and location and it is easier for the BCCI as well to arrange for logistics in Mumbai. Official announcements will be made soon”, confirmed the top BCCI official.
The five franchises have not yet received official confirmation of the time and location of the auction, though. Later this week, an official announcement is expected for the same.

WPL 2023: Teams Name
Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Delhi Capitals are the three team owners, who also owns the Indian Premier League (IPL) teams. Their bids of Rs 912.99 crore, Rs 901 crore, and Rs 810 crore, respectively, were accepted. The Ahmedabad team received the biggest investment from Adani Sportsline of Rs. 1289 crore. The Lucknow team was purchased by Capri Global Holdings for Rs 757 crore.

WPL 2023: Format
This T20 league’s inaugural season will feature a total of 22 matches. The best team from the league stage will advance directly to the championship game. For a spot in the final match, the second and third-place teams will face off.
WPL 2023- Player Base Price and purse:
The players’ reserved basic prices have been set by the BCCI as being Rs 20, 40, and 50 lacs. For uncapped players, the amounts are Rs. 10 lacs and Rs. 20 lacs. Each team will have Rs 12 crore to spend at the player auction that will be held the following month in order to purchase a minimum of 15 players and a maximum of 18 players. The starting 11 may contain up to 5 foreign players, including one associate player.
WPL Schedule:
The inaugural season is set to begin in March and could last for more than two weeks. The idea is to finish the WPL season before the start of the IPL. As things stand, the tentative dates for the tournament remain from March 4 to 24 and could last for 21 days.
WPL Broadcasters & LIVE Streaming:
Viacom 18 has secured media rights for the first five editions of the Women’s Premier League. Viacom will pay ₹951 crores to BCCI as part of the deal, which calculates to per match value of ₹7.09 crores.
