Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur is expected to fetch a decent amount in the upcoming WPL auction. Apart from his batting skills, it’s a no-brainer that the franchise obtaining her services will want to give her the captaincy role as well. Playing in the middle-order, Harmanpreet can bring a lot of stability and can be very dangerous with the bat, especially towards the ending phase of an innings.
2. Smriti Mandhana
Team India’s vice-captain, Smriti Mandhana will be on every franchise wish list. Just like Harmanpreet, the left-handed batter is also expected to do the leadership role for her franchise. One of the top all-rounders to participate in the auction, Deepti Sharma is expected to fetch big bucks in the event. The spin all-rounder has been one of the best in the shortest format in recent times. She has turned several matches in India’s favour on her own with both bat and the ball. The southpaw usually came in the lower-middle order and has all the credentials to finish the innings with some cracking shots in slog overs.

4. Ellyse Perry
Ellyse Perry is widely regarded as one of the most dominant players with both bat and ball in the shortest format. Her form has dipped a bit in the last couple of years but the 32-year-old will attract big attention from the franchises as she brought a lot of experience to the table. The Australian all-rounder can also be given be leadership role considering her experience in the international and domestic arena.
5. Allysa Healy
Another Australian on the list, Allysa Healy will surely be on every franchise target list. The wicketkeeper-batter has been a consistent scorer particularly in the shortest-format of the game. The senior batter has amassed a total of 2,300 runs in the 20-over format and she is one of the most wicketkeepers in the Women’s cricketing arena.
