World Cup 2023: With ODI WC 2023 in mind, KL Rahul has started his recovery period. The injured India star was spotted walking around on crutches along with his wife Athiya Shetty. KL Rahul posted pictures of himself using crutches barely days after having surgery for a recent injury to his right thigh that occurred during an IPL 2023 game. Two weeks ago, the captain of the Lucknow Super Giants got hurt while playing against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Rahul had made it known that he will get surgery to address the problem. He was guaranteed to miss the remainder of the IPL season as well as the forthcoming ICC World Test Championship final (WTC Final 2023) against Australia on June 7 at The Oval in London as a result of the decision.

Rahul has acknowledged how difficult the choice was when he decided to have surgery.
“Absolutely gutted that I won’t be at the Oval next month with Team India. I’ll do everything I can to get back in the blue and help my country. That has always been my focus and priority. After careful consideration and consultation with the medical team, it’s been concluded that I’ll be undergoing surgery on my thigh shortly. My focus will be on my rehabilitation and recovery in the coming weeks. It’s a tough call to make, but I know it’s the right one to ensure a full recovery,” the 31-year-old posted on social media.
Rahul will have surgery as soon as possible, followed by rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy, the BCCI had stated in a statement.
Ishan Kishan was also chosen by the board to replace Rahul in the WTC final, while reserves Ruturaj Gaikwad, Suryakumar Yadav, and Mukesh Kumar were also added.
