West Indies are currently playing a three-match Test series against England and the second match of the series will be played from March 16-20. Three West Indies players in Jason Holder, Alzarri Joseph and Kyle Mayers, who will be departing for IPL soon, have all been named in the squad.

CWI’s decision will affect Lucknow Super Giants the most, as two of these three players will be playing for the newly-formed franchise. The KL Rahul-led team bought Holder for INR 8.50 crore and Kyle Mayers for INR 50 lakhs in the IPL 2022 auction. Alzarri Joseph will be playing for another new franchise in Gujarat Titans, who spent INR 2.40 crore to acquire the service of the speedster.
“It was a hard-fought first match in Antigua and we decided to stick with the same 13 players for the second match in Barbados. Bonner demonstrated the way you should play, and we were very pleased with the way he played in the first innings and again in the second innings. It was a hard work for all the bowlers, and we were very happy with the way they stuck to the task,” Lead Selector Dr. Desmond Haynes said in a statement.

Check out how this series will affect the plans of Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans:
- The third and last match of the series will be played on 28th March.
- It is expected that Jason Holder, Kyle Mayers and Alzarri Joseph will feature in the third Test as well.
- Given that IPL starts from March 26, these three players are set to miss a few matches.
- LSG players Jason Holder and Kyle Mayers are expected to miss the first two matches, whereas GT’s Alzarri Joseph is likely to miss only one match.
