Prior to today’s game, Mankad had only featured in two IPL matches. He was bought by Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 2022 auction for Rs. 20 lakh. However, he only appeared in PBKS’s final league game of the season against Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he scored four runs.
The 29-year-old cricketer was released by PBKS and was later picked by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 2023 auction. Although he made his debut in their previous match against Gujarat Titans, he did not get the chance to bat in that game.
Prerak is a handy all-rounder who played a significant role in Saurashtra’s victorious campaigns in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and Ranji Trophy during the 2022–23 season.
Prerak made his debut in first-class and T20 cricket in 2016. In first-class cricket, the talented all-rounder has scored 2006 runs and taken 43 wickets in 46 games. In the shorter format of the game, he has amassed 877 runs at an impressive strike-rate of 142.60, while also taking 22 wickets in 43 matches.
