West Indies tour of Pakistan: The West Indies cricket team are scheduled to tour Pakistan in June 2022 to play a three-match One Day International (ODI) series. Originally slated for December 2021, the matches were rescheduled after many instances of COVID-19 were identified in the West Indies team and support staff. The opening match of the ODI series between Pakistan and the West Indies will be played on June 8, the second on June 10, and the third and final match on June 12. All the matches will be played at the Multan International Cricket Stadium in Multan.
The games were supposed to be held in Rawalpindi, but the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to hold them in Multan as a back-up since former Prime Minister Imran Khan is rumoured to be organising protest protests in the capital in the coming days. The first protest rally took place on May 25, but there is still a chance that more will take place in the coming days.
With the fields at Lahore and Karachi being relaid and the Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar undergoing renovations, Multan remained the only realistic choice.
