Declan Rice, Said Benrahma, Flynn Downes, and Michail Antonio were seen in social media videos attempting to stop Alkmaar supporters from reaching their family. While the other three were seen physically fighting the criminals, Rice hurled a water bottle in their direction.
The governing body of European football has not yet responded to the controversy, and it is believed that it has no plans to do so until the Conference League final between West Ham and Fiorentina on 7 June in Prague. However, Rice and his teammates will need to convince a commission that their actions were justified under extraordinary circumstances.
