With the Manchester United Takeover on the line, new owners have gone on to submit their bids to acquire the club. With the Glazers on the verge of giving up the ownership of the club, the Qatari group and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are the front runners to buy the club.
Not worrying an inch about the reaction of the fans, Wayne Rooney went on to say, “Firstly, I think the Glazers have done a fantastic job, they’ve been at the club for, well they signed me in 2004, so they’ve been at the club for 20 years now and I think they’ve always allowed managers to bring the players in they want.”
“I think it’s clear the fans want change and obviously it looks like the Glazers are open for that change to come with putting the club up for sale and receiving the bids they have received, so hopefully they get the right people in. And it’s people who are going to try to move the club forward,” he added.

With Rooney praising the owners and claiming them to be ‘Fantastic’, the Manchester United fans got infuriated with their former skipper. Taking to social media, the fans went on to diss Rooney. From Name-calling to claiming him to be a secret City fan, the fans didn’t spare an inch.
Few such comments include the likes of – “Glazers have done a great job? What was Rooney thinking?”, “Probably a PR figure employed by the club or he’s scared to risk any potential future coaching role.”

While one claimed him to be a Manchester City fan, “He’s a secret Man City fan,” another fan quickly mentioned when Rooney wanted to leave the club back in 2010. “Remember when he wanted to leave in 2010 because he felt the owners weren’t showing enough ambition in the transfer window?”
The Glazers family are not loved at all by the fans. Such has been the hatred for the fans, that multiple ‘Glazers Out’ protests have taken place in the previous years. The American business family took charge of the club back in 2005. However, with the passing of time, the owners went on to amass a huge debt to the club, thereby becoming the hate person for the fans.
