“Actually I went to the washroom to set my hair and didn’t think that I will be wearing this[On wearing the orange cap]. Yeah, It was sweating a lot, it went into my eyes too. Yeah, the short boundaries play a part, as a batter we need to keep that in mind and target according to that. When the bowlers bowled on the good area, we need to just think of taking doubles. I thought the ball held a bit in the first couple of overs, and there was no grass on the pitch so the ball was coming onto the bat nicely also due to some wet patches on the field the ball stopped swinging,” Gill said after his innings.
This impressive feat marks Gill’s third century in the IPL 2023, with three of his last four innings resulting in centuries. As a result, he is currently leading the Orange Cap by a significant margin and is poised to win the award.
