Tuesday’s Leagues Cup match between Inter Miami and Atlanta United started with a quick brace from Lionel Messi using his weaker right foot.
After a superb pass from Sergio Busquets in the eighth minute, Lionel Messi, who was starting for Inter Miami for the first time, took the lead.
The 36-year-old’s original shot struck the post, and he then used his right foot to score on the rebound.

14 minutes later, Messi scored again, this time from close range with Robert Taylor’s help.
Messi had initiated the attack in the field’s middle. Lionel Messi carried the ball for 30 yards before Taylor received a pass that he prodded wide with the outside of his left boot.
Taylor then provided a perfect cross that Messi tucked away from eight yards away.

Just before half-time, Taylor scored his own goal, making the score 3-0 for Inter Miami CF. The Finland international volleyed a shot from a small angle into the top corner for the goal of the night.

Eight minutes into the second half, Taylor added another goal as Messi earned his first Miami career assist.
