Alex Pereira the former UFC Middleweight Champion fought against Israel Adesnaya in November 2022 in the main event of UFC 281 and defeated him. The MMA fans were thrilled back then to see someone dethrone the longtime middleweight champion Adesanya. But during the title match of UFC 287, Pereira was Knocked out in the second round of the main event match.
The defeat was tough for Pereira, after which instead of wanting to fight for the same title against Adesanya, Pereira decided to move to a new weight division and challenge himself altogether.

Alex Pereira will be fighting Jan Blachowicz in UFC 291 in the Light Heavyweight division, the weight division requires the fighters to weigh 205 pounds. It has been confirmed that Pereira and Blachowicz will serve in the co-main event in Salt Lake City.
Alex Pereira is a big-built man, it has always been harsh for him to cut weights, which is why the fighter has switched to a new weight division. After being defeated by Israel Adesanya the fighter has received a 6 months medical suspension. It was already pre-determined that upon his arrival he would be facing off against someone from the top 5 light heavyweight division.

The former champion during one of his fans’ meet, encountered rather, a funny situation, where one of the fan came up to him and told him “I am a vir***”. The statement was rather surprising for Pereira as it was completely out of the blue. Though the audio isn’t very clear, viewers can rather easily make it out from his reaction that the situation was rather a little confusing for Pereira.
Fans may not have seen Alex Pereira smile often, but this particular video does show us, that the former champion smiled irrespective of finding the situation unrelatable.
There is always a first time to everything, just like in the upcoming bout, we will see Pereir fighting in the Light Heavyweight division for the first time. Instead of switching weight classes, Pereira decided to move up, and Blachowicz is curious to see how that adjustment would work for him.
