Vietnam Open 2022 Live streaming – Vietnam Open Badminton LIVE: After a month long break, the BWF tour resumes with the Vietnam Open that is all scheduled to begin on Monday, 26th September. The tournament is making its return since 2019 as the last two editions were cancelled due to Covid-19 pandemic. The Super Series 100 Badminton tournament will have India’s prominent players like Saina Nehwal, Sai Praneeth, Parupalli Kashyap. Indians in action :
Sai Praneeth is the top seeded Indian in the men’s singles. He is the second seed in the tournament. Other seeded players in the men’s singles include Parupalli Kashyap and Mithun Manjunath, who are seeded fifth and eighth seed respectively. In the Women’s singles Saina Nehwal is the second seed. Ashmitha Chaliha is the only other seeded player in Women’s singles, she is the eighth seed in the tournament.
Men’s Singles
Kanta Tsuneyama leads first quarter
Japan’s Kanta Tsuneyama is the top seed in this tournament and he leads the first quarter of the draws. He will begin his campaign from the second round and is likely to face India’s Rahul Chittaboina in his opening match. Chittaboina will face a qualifier in the first round. The Other Indian in this quarter of the draw in Priyanshu Rajawat. Rajawat was part of India’s Thomas Cup winning squad and the youngster has received a bye to the second round. He is likely to face Lee Shun Yang from Malaysia in the second round.
Parupalli Kashyap and Shubankar Dey in second quarter
The second quarter of the draw has the presence of lot of Indians. India’s Kiran George and Sankar Muthuswamy will face each other in the first round. Both the players are unseeded and the winner of this contest will face fourth seed Tommy Sugiarto in the second round. India’s Ragu Mariswamy has received a bye to the second round and he will begin his campaign by facing either Shaqeem Shahyar from Malaysia or Chinese Taipei’s Lee Chai-hao.
Fifth seed Parupalli Kashyap is the only seeded Indian in this quarter and he will face the winner between India’s Shuhabkar Dey and Kiran Kumar Mekala in the second round. Another India named Abhyash Singh also is part of this quarter and he will face Malaysia’s Cheam June Wei in the first round.
Mithun Manjunath headlines third quarter
Mithun Manjunath who finished as runner-up at this year’s Indian Wells Masters is the top seeded Indian in the third quarter. The eight seed will face either Chinese Taipei’s Chi Yu-jen or a qualifier in the second round as he has received a direct bye. Meiraba Maisnam is the other Indian in this quarter. He will also begin his campaign directly from the second round, where he will face either his compatriot Naren Iyer or Malaysia’s Kok Jing Hong. India’s Harshit Aggarwal is also part of this quarter and he takes on a qualifier in the first round.
Sai Praneeth leads final quarter
Second seed Sai Praneeth leeads the final quarter of the draws. The Indian has received a bye to the second round and is likely to face fellow cmpatriot Satish Kumar in the second round. Satish Kumar will first have to defeat a qualifier in the first round to set up clash with Sai Praneeth. The other Indian in this quarter is Aman Sanjay. He also has received a bye to the second round and will be up against the winner between Malaysia’s Lim Chong King and Ong Ken Yon.
Women’s Singles
Ashmitha Chalila headlines first quarter
India’s Ashmitha Chaliha is the top seeded Indian in the first quarter of the draws. She is seeded as the No.8 in the tournament and will face Vietnam’s Vu Thi Trang in the first round. India will also have Aashi Rawat in the quarter, who faces top seed Aya Ohori from Japan in the first round.
Meanwhile, compatriots Samiya Farooqui and Prerana Neeluri will face each other in the first round, who are also part of this quarter. The winner of this contest is likely to meet Aya Ohori in the second round. Gadde Ruthvika Shivani is also another Indian in the quarter and she begins her campaign by facing a qualifier in the first round.
Unseeded Samayara Panwar is the only Indian present in the second quarter of the draws. She begins her campaign by facing Hog Kong’s Ng Tin Yan in the first round. While, in the third quarter Ira Sharma is the lone Indian. She will face a qualifier in the first round.
Saina Nehwal leads final quarter
Second seed Saina Nehwal is the top seed in the second round and she is expected to make a deep run in the tournament. She begins her ampaign by facing compatriot Rituparna Das in the first round. Saina’s big challenge in the quarterfinal will be Malaysia’s Kisona Selvaduray, who is the fifth seed in the tournament. Selvaduray opens her campaign by facing India’s Anupama Upadhyaya, who is the current Junior World No.1 in the first round.
Men’s Doubles
In the Men’s Doubles Senthil Govindarasu and Gobinath Venkadeshwaran are the only players in the first half of the draws. They will face Hong Kong’s Chang Tak Ching and Hung Kuei Chun in the first round.
Hariharan Amsakarunan and Ruban Kumar Rethinasabapathi are the other Indian pair, who will face compatriots Santosh Gakendran and Mauryan Kathiravan in the first round. Both the pairs are in the final quarter of men’s doubles. The winner will be up against second seeded China pair He Jiting and Zhou Haodong.
Women’s Doubles
Simran Singhi and Rotika Thaker are the fourth seeded pair in the women’s doubles, while Sanyogita Ghorpade and Priya Konjengbam are seeded eighth in the Women’s Doubles quarter. Singhi and Thaker find themselves in the third quarter of the draws and will face Vietnam’s Lam My Tien and Le Ngoc van in the second round.
Meanwhile, Ghorpade and Konjengbam are in the final quarter of the draw and have received a bye to the second round. India’s Manjit Khwairakpam and Simran Singhi will pair up in the mixed doubles and they take on compatriots Mauryan Kathiravan and Kuhan Balashri in the first round. The winner of this contest will face Indonesia’s fifth seeded Muhammad Isfahani and Melati Oktavianti in the second round.
Hariharan Amsakarunan and Lakshmi Subramanian will take on fellow Indians Rohan Kapoor and Sikki Reddy in the first round. They are in the second quarter. Sabareeshwaran Haribaskaran and Kanishka Ganesan are also present in this quarter and they face Malaysia’s Tan Ming Kang and Indonesia’s Serena Kani in the opening contest.
Santosh Gajendran and Deethya Jagadish are the only Indians in the third quarter. They face Vietnam’s Tran Manh and Dinh Hong in the first round. Bokka Navaneeth and Priya Konjengbam are in the final quarter and they kickstart their campaign by playing against Vietnam’s Nguyen Hoang and Pham Thi Kanh.
