Goalkeeper Keylor Navas was called into action as early as the fifth minute as the home side pushed forward, but the ball was collected safely by the Costa Rica international.
It was Pablo Sarabia who opened the scoring after a quarter of an hour, the 30-year-old unleashing a shot from the edge of the box after Mauro Icardi laid the ball off with a backwards pass.
PSG were putting on a show, and some superb individual skill saw Kylian Mbappé run round the full-back, with the striker firing home from an impossibly tight angle. Navas was again called into the action just after half-time as the stopper made another decisive save.
New boss Christophe Galtier withdrew Icardi Mbappé for Lionel Messi and Neymar just before the hour mark, but despite the presence of the superstar players it was 20-year-old Arnaud Kalimuendo – who has spent the last two seasons on loan at Lens who made it three. Next up for PSG is Gamba Osaka on Monday.
