When it comes to victories, Krylov’s first and biggest triumph was over Ed Herman. The Ukrainian fighter entered this battle on a four-match winning run, with three of those victories coming by way of submission. He was therefore seen as the victor in this contest.

Right from the outset, he began utilising powerful kicks and body jabs to demonstrate his authority over Herman. Herman, though, recovered well despite taking several severe knocks. Nonetheless, Krylov delivered several powerful strikes to finish this round. Then, in the second round, it only took him 40 seconds to knock him out with a spinning right hand and a high kick to the head.

Ovince Saint Preux-2

After five years had passed since their first fight at UFC 171, where Ovince prevailed with a Von Flue (shoulder) choke. Preux was aiming for yet another convincing victory, and the Ukrainian combatant was pumped up to get retribution following his loss. Saint Preux’s aspirations were seriously damaged by the manner the Ukrainian dominated the opening round.

Krylov, who had been furious, started a bombardment at 0:22 in round 2, standing up with his hands clenched and launching punch after punch that included left-right combos and jaw-crushing high kicks. Krylov quickly regained control and delivered vicious elbows to his opponent’s head before applying the RNC (rear-naked choke). Notably, this was one of the best sub wins of that year.
