UFC Vegas 69 Best Knockouts: Nazim Sadykhov defeats Evan Elder

An unintentional head-on collision gave Nazim Sadykhov his first UFC victory over Evan Elder.

In their preliminary lightweight match at UFC Vegas 69 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, the Weidman MMA representative defeated Elder via doctor stoppage. Thirty-eight seconds into Round 3, a cage-side doctor abruptly declared the match over because Elder had sustained a severe gash over his right eye. The damage was initially thought to have been caused by a knee from Sadykhov (8-1, 1-0 UFC) that struck his opponent straight in the eyebrow. Still, the winner later explained that it resulted from a collision of heads.

UFC Fight Night 219 Best Knockouts: Philipe Lins defeats Ovince Saint Preux

At UFC Fight Night 219, Philipe Lins was in excellent shape. The Brazilian light heavyweight defeated the experienced Ovince Saint Preux in just 49 seconds during the preliminary bout at UFC Vegas 69.

Lins charged straight for “OSP” after the opening bell. Saint Preux was clipped early in the battle, and the 26-time UFC veteran never recovered. All he could do for the rest of the fight was raised his arms to block the bombardment. Saint Preux remained defensive as Lins continued to swing erratically but accurately. The referee had no choice but to intervene to make the save as Lins continued to land unanswered blows.
