Chimaev hasn’t had a challenger waiting for him since then. But ‘Borz’ is prepared to advance to the middleweight class. The identities of Makhachev and Chimaev’s potential opponents are now not very unknown, there are speculations made on who can probably be his next opponent once he decides on making his UFC return.

In the promotion’s final event there, UFC 280 in October 2022, Makhachev won the Lightweight championship by submitting Charles Oliveira.

Islam Makhachev is currently vacating in Burshi, a Republic of Dagestan, Russia. As he has recently shared a post on his Instagram account, with some of the most recent pictures of his, taken during the trip with the caption” Вне зоне доступа .Это для меня лучший отдых” which in English basically means currently out of reach.

The fighter hasn’t shared any due date for his return.
