The former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira will step inside the octagon for the first time this year after losing his title last year. This time, he will face the rising lightweight contender and currently ranked No. 4 lightweight fighter Beneil Dariush. This bout was scheduled to take place in May, however, UFC rescheduled it following the Brazilian star’s injury.
At UFC 289, Charles Oliveira (33-9) will face Beneil Dariush (22-4) in the co-main event. Currently, the betting odds are yet to be released for this fight but fans predict the former UFC champion will win this match via a submission. However, it shouldn’t be ignored that Beneil Daruish is on his 8-fight win streak and he is also a submission specialist. It would be a great match to watch out for between the two lightweights.
Undoubtedly, Charles Oliveira has dominated the lightweight division with two title defenses against the likes of Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaetheje.
