If you’re new to the UFC and don’t know Usman and Edwards’ history, they have already faced off twice in the octagon, with a tally of 1-1. The first career match between “The Nigerian Nightmare” and “Rocky” took place in 2015. Where Usman defeated the Englishman by unanimous decision after three rounds.
With a miraculous head kick knockout in their second fight, which took place last year, Edwards destroyed Usman, who was ruling the Welterweight division. Edwards prevented Usman from making UFC history by winning the Welterweight Title in the UFC 278 Main Event, which was one of the biggest upsets in UFC’s history.
Usman had the upper hand the entire time in that fight, yet it only took one head-kick for him to win. Usman believes he is a superior fighter to the opponent but lost the bout due to a single error, thus he has since been seeking retribution.
