UFC 281: As per recent revelations, a Welterweight bout between Belal Muhammad and Sean Brady has been booked for UFC 281. Muhammad looking to get back to the octagon for a while now and while there were discussions of a potential matchup against Khamzat Chimaev, the fight didn’t come to fruition. Now, as revealed by ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Belal Muhammad and Sean Brady have verbally agreed for a bout at UFC’s October 22nd pay-per-view. Okamoto reported the news over Twitter, saying:
“Big business here at welterweight. No. 5 vs. No. 9 in the official rankings. Belal Muhammad (@bullyb170) vs. Sean Brady (@seanbradymma) is verbally agreed for Oct. 22 in Abu Dhabi, per sources.”

UFC 281: Belal Muhammad vs Sean Brady reportedly BOOKED for UFC Welterweight Clash
Even though this matchup doesn’t seem as exciting as a potential matchup between Khamzat Chimaev and Belal Muhammad, it is bound to keep the spectators on the edge of their seats.
Sean Brady is undefeated (15-0) in his MMA career so far and has added prestigious names as Jake Matthews and Michael Chiesa to his resume as well. Moreover, he is ranked number 9 in the UFC Welterweight division. However, he hasn’t quite faced a challenge like Belal Muhammad yet.
On the flipside, Belal Muhammad himself as an impressive record. He is 21-3 in his career so far and is undefeated since 2019 and is ranked number 5 in the UFC Welterweight division. Moreover, Muhammad emerged victorious over Vincente Luque and also Stephen Thompson in his last two fights. A win against Sean Brady, can certainly put him in the title contention as well.
Both fighters are extremely dangerous on the ground but their abilities as a striker shouldn’t be undermined. It will be interesting to see how a fight between the two plays out come UFC 281.
