This matchup has been in the making for quite a while now. It was initially reported that the duo have agreed for a bout for UFC 281. However, they have agreed to pre-pone the Welterweight bout to the UFC 280 event.

This fight will add to a already stacked card which will be headlined by Islam Makhachev and Charles Oliveira for the UFC Lightweight championship. Moreover, the card will also see Beneil Dariush vs Mateuz Gamrot.
The official Twitter page of the UFC announced the fight over the social media platform saying:

The matchup has a lot on the line as both fighters are looking to pave their way for a title shot. Belal Muhammad’s recent two fights have seen him beat Vincente Luque and Stephen Thompson.
As of now, ‘Bully’ has record of 21-3 and is ranked number 5 in the Welterweight division. Moreover, he is undefeated since 2019. On the flipside, Sean Brady is yet to suffer a defeat in his MMA career.
He is currently ranked number 9 in the UFC Welterweight division. It is safe to say that Sean Brady hasn’t quite faced a challenge like Belal Muhammad yet and it will be a really challenging fight for the number 9 Welterweight.
Both fighters will look to bring their A-game come October 22nd at the UFC 280. It will be interesting to see who gets the job done under the bright lights and potentially pave their way to a shot at the Welterweight king, Kamaru Usman.
