UFC 265 – Derrick Lewis Vs Ciryl Gane Live: Tecia Torres beats Angela Hill via unanimous decision: UFC 265 Derrick Lewis vs Ciryl Gane for the first-ever Interim heavyweight title brought the fans to their toes. Putting two of the best punchers against each other, Gane vs Lewis saw several moments of drama.  In the first two rounds, Lewis planted an illegal kick on Gane’s crotch. Meanwhile, Gane returned the favor with clean jabs to his face. Hence, the mid-round came up with both men in a similar position.

That said, Derrick Lewis appeared more aggressive in round three, but the scorecard had Ciryl Gane on the lead by then. The Frenchman didn’t fear to go out on Lewis and claimed a sensational KO win to his name. Gane unleashed series of shots and left no options for the referee to wave off the contest. Hene, Ciryl Gane will now face Fransia Ngannou next for the UFC gold.

Result:- Ciryl Gane knocks out Derrick Lewis in the third round

Jose Aldo vs Pedro Munhoz

Two of the best Brazilian fighters, Jose Aldo and Pedro Munhoz went right after each other when the bell rang. Munhoz continued to pressurize his opponent with leg kicks, whereas Aldo tried to put damage with his hands. Hence, the striking contest clearly evoked profitable moments for both sides. While Munhoz threw everything with power and bad intentions, Jose Aldo’s head movement appeared as a good response.

However, Pedro Munhoz’s aggressive approach saw no change in round two. He almost ran across the cage to hurt Jose Aldo, but couldn’t benefit much. Jose Aldo’s lighting speed complimented his abilities, which helped him plant a few good shots on Munhoz. Nevertheless, the end of round two left both men with their potential chances of winning.

Besides, Aldo’s veteran experience came to the display as he pounced on Munhoz in the final round. Starting from kicks, jabs to clean shots, the firmer 145 lbs used it all against his fellow Brazilian rival. After tasting blood, Aldo became even more ferocious with his action. He poleaxed Munhoz throughout the end of round three and comfortably claimed the win.

Result:- Jose Aldo defeats Pedro Munhoz via unanimous decision

Michael Chiesa vs Vicente Luque

The fight held sheer importance in the welterweight division as Luque and Chiesa are two of the mid-tier elites of the roster, constantly trying to slide into the top-tier slot. That said, the recent collision validated both men’s spots as we could see them go violent against each other.

Surprisingly, Luque began the first round by frequently shifting his stance from orthodox to southpaw. However, the drama was not over yet. While Michael Chiesa almost submitted his rival in a rear-naked choke, the tables turned in a shock. Despite Chiesa’s constant attempts, Vicente Luque managed to get rid of that hold. Instead, he waited for his moment, and as Chiesa was trying to get back to the feet, Luque got hold of his neck.

Unlike Michael Chiesa, Luque didn’t offer any mistake and planted a perfect choke on his rival to claim the win. No wonder the 29-year-old has leaped closer towards a title shot and has already garnered welterweight champion Kamaru Usman’s attention.

Result:- Vicente Luque beats Michael Chiesa via submission in round 1.

Tecia Torres vs Angela Hill

The sole women’s bout in the UFC main-card rightly lived up to the hype. The intriguing re-match between Angela Hill and Tecia Torres brought the best out of both the female fighters in the intriguing re-match
. However, Hill apparently had the favor of landing more shots in the first round. Although Torres showcased her combinations by the end, they didn’t cause much trouble to Angela Hill. It was more of a striking contest in the maiden round, and both women seemed to relish their time in the cage.

Meanwhile, Torres began gaining momentum in round two until Angela Hill scored a massive takedown. ‘The Tiny Tornado’ could get rid of that hold but that didn’t stop Hill from coming with all the aggression. Angela Hill mounted on her opponent and looked eager to go for a submission when the second round ended, leaving the door open to an intense third round.

As predicted, both women emerged with sheer aggression and prowess in the final round. Despite contracting a few big shots, Torress charged her opponent with a barrage of punches. Meanwhile, she received a similar action from Angela Hill’s side. With just 10 seconds remaining on the clock, Torres could get a takedown, which ultimately helped her get a win via the judge’s decision.

Result:- Tecia Torres vanquishes Angela Hill via unanimous decision

Song Yadong vs Casey Kenney

The main card began with Song Yadong and Casey Kenney putting everything on the line against each other. The rising stars inaugurated their fight with some striking exchanges, and Kenney continued to change stances in the first round.
Nevertheless, the Chinese star appeared more dominant. Just over three minutes in the round, Yadong had put immense pressure on Kenney with fierce body shots. However, Kenney got hold of his rival and came close to choking him. But the bell rang, leaving equal chances on both men’s sides.

The second round began with a similar essence of striking. Yadong and Kenney planted a few leg kicks on each other, but it was the Chinese fighter who appeared to be the aggressor. Although Casey Kenney attempted a few takedowns, Yadong’s defense seemed uncrackable.

That said, Song Yadong re-infused all the action from the very beginning of the final round. The damage on Casey Kenney was prominent, but the American fighter landed some stunning head kicks to advance himself on the scorecard. Despite showing all the efforts, Kenney fell short on the judge’s decision and Song Yadong had his hands raised via split decision.

Result:- Song Yadong beat Casey Kenney via split decision
