Hungary started on a high note as they kept hurling attacks on the German defence in an attempt to exploit the gaps in the defence. A little while after the first quarter of the game, Hungary forward Szalai captures a mistake from Niklas Sule and slots the ball right past Ter Stegen’s grip from an awarded corner. The right-footed finish gave the visitors a lead.

Hungary found a new zest to hold onto the upper hand and kept hurling attacks at Germany. However, despite a lot of efforts, the scores remain unchanged at half time.
Coming from the lemon break, Germany entered with rejuvenated spirits. They had finally started taking the control of the game which they lacked to do in the first half. However, even after continuous efforts from Leroy Sane and Joshua Kimmich, Hungary went home with three points.
Germany’s wastefulness upfront along with the lack of finishing from prolific forwards like Sane amd Timo Werner seems to be what stripped them off the points this night. Despite dominating the numbers otherwise, Germany registered only three shots on target and failed to register even a single goal.
Hungary, now will look forward to facing Italy in an endeavour to cement their position at the top of the table.
