Manchester United have been knocked out of the Champions League after Atlético Madrid pulled off a stubborn defensive display at Old Trafford.
Anthony Elanga spurned a great chance to fire United in front in the 13th minute.
Bruno Fernandes cut the ball back into the six yard box for the Swedish teenager but his first-time effort was kept out via the face of Jan Oblak.
Rodrigo De Paul then forced David De Gea into a stunning one-handed save with a powerful drive from 25 yards out with the effort heading towards the top corner.

However, four minutes before the half-time break Atlético did beat De Gea as they stormed into the lead through left-back Renan Lodi. Joäo Felix’s back-heel set Antoine Griezmann away for the Frenchman to chip the ball to the back post for the Brazilian to head home.
The hosts probed for an equaliser in the second half to no joy. Jadon Sancho volleyed just over from close range after being picked out by Diogo Dalot before Oblak was equal to Raphaël Varane’s header from six yards out.
Dalot flashed a shot just wide of the post in the dying minutes but Diego Simeone’s side couldn’t be broken down and they progress to the quarter-finals with yet another knockout round win over an English side.
