GROUP A:

Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), RB Leipzig & Club Brugge

Manchester City have already secured the top spot after beating Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 on Matchday Five, with the French side definitely finishing second, sitting four points behind City and four points ahead of both RB Leipzig and Club Brugge.

Leipzig, who recently sacked their coach Jesse Marsch over the weekend, host Manchester City and need to match or better Club Brugge’s result in order to clinch third place and a Europa League spot.

The Belgians must get something from their trip to Paris and hope that they achieve a better result than Leipzig.

Qualified: 1. Manchester City

2. PSG

GROUP D:

Real Madrid, Inter Milan, FC Sheriff & Shakhtar Donetsk

Real Madrid and Inter Milan have already qualified but a win for Inter can help them finish the group on top with just the 2 points separating the Top 2 teams. Real Madrid just need to avoid a defeat to finish first in the group and Inter need to win against Madrid to overtake them

FC Sheriff will head for the Europa League with their place already confirmed in third place while Shakhtar Donetsk remain last having not won a single game so far.

Qualified

1. Real Madrid

2. Inter Milan

The positions might change depending on tonight’s results

GROUP B:

Liverpool, FC Porto, AC Milan & Atletico Madrid

Group of death – Liverpool claimed their first place in the Matchday 4 itself after they beat Atletico Madrid and they are currently on top with a 10 point gap between the second placed team. It’s all to play for in this group for all the other 3 teams with Porto sitting second in the league table.

A win for FC Porto at home against Atletico Madrid will confirm their passage to the knockout stage. A draw will do them some good as long as Milan do not beat Liverpool at San Siro. AC Milan need to win against the Liverpool and hope the other game is a draw, while the Spanish champions have to beat Porto and hope that the Italians fail to beat Liverpool.

Played Won Drawn Lost For Against Goal difference Points
Liverpool 5 5 0 0 15 5 10 15
Porto 5 1 2 2 3 8 -5 5
Milan 5 1 1 3 5 7 -2 4
Atlético 5 1 1 3 4 7 -3 4

GROUP E:

Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Benfica & Dynamo Kyiv

Bayern Munich have already qualified and will keep their place at the top to get a favourable second placed opposition in the UEFA Champions League draw.

The battle for the second and third place will go down to the wire with Barcelona in second and Benfica in third. Barcelona have a two point advantage but face a tough test against Bayern Munich in which the Spanish team have failed to win in their last 3 matches. Bayern have scored 14 goals against Barcelona in their last 3 meetings.

Benfica host Dynamo Kyiv, with the Portuguese side boasting the superior head-to-head record over the Catalans. So if Barcelona earn a draw against Bayern and Benfica win against Dynamo, goal difference and head-to-head will play it’s part which favours Benfica. A win in Germany sees Xavi’s men safely through, but should they draw or lose, they will be reliant on Benfica failing to win as well.

Played Won Drawn Lost For Against Goal difference Points
Bayern 5 5 0 0 19 3 16 15
Barcelona 5 2 1 2 2 6 -4 7
Benfica 5 1 2 2 5 9 -4 5
Dynamo Kyiv 5 0 1 4 1 9 -8 1

GROUP F:

Manchester United, Villareal, Atalanta & Young Boys

Manchester United sealed top spot with their 2-0 win at Villarreal on matchday five with their caretaker boss Michael Carrick in charge.

The Yellow Submarine are a point ahead of Atalanta in second, so only need to avoid defeat in Italy, while Gian Piero Gasperini’s side must win to take the other qualification place.

Young Boys can still claim a Europa League spot if they beat United at Old Trafford and Atalanta lose.

GROUP C:

Ajax, Sporting CP, Borussia Dortmund & Besiktas

The only group with all the places already confirmed in the Champions League Group Stage. Ajax will finish top of the group as group leaders followed by Sporting who will finish the group in second place and Borussia Dortmund will head for the Europa League with Besiktas heading home as they didn’t manage to win or draw any of their games so far.

GROUP H:

Chelsea, Juventus, Zenit & Malmo

Chelsea and Juventus have both qualified from the group, and Thomas Tuchel’s side will secure top spot with a win at Zenit. Juventus must better Chelsea’s result when they host Malmo. Zenit have already confirmed their place in the Europa League, while Malmo are out.

Qualified:

1. Chelsea

2. Juventus

Positions may change depending on results

GROUP G:

Lille, Salzburg, Sevilla & Wolfsburg

The tightest of groups where it all comes down to the final matchday. Any team out of the four can top the group and even end up in the last place. Lille sit top on eight points, and a win at Wolfsburg will secure that spot, while a draw will still see them qualify as they have a superior head-to-head with Sevilla.

Salzburg will go through if they avoid defeat at home to Sevilla, winning the group if they win and Lille do not. Sevilla have to win in Austria to go through. They will at least secure third and a place in the Europa League if they lose and Wolfsburg also fail to beat Lille. Wolfsburg actually cannot finish third but can finish first or second with a win against Lille.
