After landing in Abu Dhabi just 24 hours ago, Argentina did not have a full-fledged practice session. However, there was no jetlag for the Albicelestes. Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez opened the floodgates just 17 minutes into the game. Lionel Messi fed the ball perfectly and Alvarez had no problem going past the defenders for the opener.
With the goal, Argentina took control. After dominating possession, Angel Di Maria made it 2-0 with a volley from Acuna’s pitch-perfect pass in the 25th minute. By 35 minutes, Argentina had possession of 72%.
In complete control of the proceedings, Di Maria bagged his brace. After a slick pass from Mac Allister, Di Maria beat his marker and UAE keeper easily to slot it home in the 36th minute.
However, Argentina were not done yet. It was time for Lionel Messi to get his 91st international goal. Despite being surrounded by UAE defenders, the PSG forward dribbled past two players. At his calmest best, Messi slotted home to make it 4-0.

While the tempo dipped a bit, Argentina had one more in the store. But before that, UAE created a chance from out of the blue. Suhail tried a shot from distance but could hit the woodwork. While Ramadan tried to slot it past Martinez, the Aston Villa keeper made a brilliant save to deny UAE their moment.
But at the hour mark, Joaquin Correa made it 5-0. Rodrigo de Paul made a good run to draw in the UAE defenders. He then floated in a pass for Correa who made it 5-0 to bring curtains on the day for Argentina.
However, UAE had a chance of their own when a brilliant counter-attack caught Argentina napping. Hussain got the ball in the final third and then passed it to Ciao. Although Ciao almost had it in, a goal-line save by Lisandro Martinez denied UAE a goal.
