India tennis sensation Nagal tries his hand at cricket. Is he good? Watch here

Nagal revealed that he spent countless hours playing cricket as a kid, and it's a dream come true to be at one of the biggest grounds in the world.

All eyes are on Sumit Nagal as he takes on China’s Shang Juncheng in the second round of the Australian Open 2024. To prepare for his blockbuster clash, Nagal has decided to switch things up and play some cricket.

The tennis ace is off the back of an incredible straight sets win over 31st seed Alexander Bublik in the first round and decided to go to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) to get ready for his clash on Thursday.

In the video, Nagal stated that he hasn’t played cricket in many years and that this is probably the first time he’s played cricket while wearing pads.

“I haven’t played in years and years. It’s probably the first time being padded up, fingers crossed.”

“I have a lot of hours that I invested playing on the street, and to see one of the biggest stadiums in the world, it’s a very nice feeling.”

Nagal also joked that he wasted way too many hours as a kid playing cricket, and he hoped he would have played more tennis as a kid.

“I played way too many hours, and I wish I had put those into tennis at an early age, but I can’t complain about it,” Sumit Nagal added.
